Christie's Pure Laser Projection on 'Kinetic Mural' at Japan's Kogakuin University
As part of the campus renovation, This institution has acquired the D4K40-RGB pure laser projector to carry out spectacular large-scale 3D videomapping in its central lobby.
A pure laser projector Christie, specifically the D4K40-RGB model, stars in the so-called 'kinetic mural' in the university kogakuin from Japan, who has acquired this equipment to offer large-scale 3D videomapping in their lobby, fruit of the joint work of Ushio Lighting y CIMA Co., along with the planning and direction carried out by P.I.C.S. as part of the renovation carried out in this academic center.
Christie D4K40-RGB projector delivers bright, intense images in a 'kinetic wall', with a surface of 16 meters wide and 8,5 meters high, composed of 180 modular cubes, each of 40 cm, which can be programmed to move forward and backward individually.
As a Kogakuin University spokesperson explains, “On the fourth floor of our building we have an open space, which is a place that reflects the ideas of our center, allowing members of each faculty to express themselves experimentally, as well as generating new ideas and concepts”.
With this philosophy, “the ‘kinetic mural’ is an extension of that creative process and, through the combination of various technologies, like 3D projection mapping, “We can inject new life into our renovated campus.”, points out.
The choice of the D4K40-RGB pure laser projector for this installation was clear: “can produce an astonishing depth of detail in each moving cube, without any image imbalance, and offer bright and realistic images even in bright lighting conditions - this spokesperson assures -. Besides, Its compact design and quiet operation set it apart from the competition, That is why we believe that it is the most suitable equipment for our space”.
This innovative space at Kogakuin University is used to host live events in streaming from famous artists and digital art competitions across campus.
“So far it has surprised and impressed the audience,” continues this spokesperson.. In particular, We are pleased to note that the Christie D4K40-RGB laser projector will be one of the key devices in taking this space to the next level. We are currently exploring several ideas, “How to use the ‘kinetic mural’ to organize events together with other universities”.
As Akikazu Dempoya points out, CEO of Christie's Enterprise division in Japan, “We are delighted that Kogakuin University has become the first educational institution in Japan to invest in our award-winning D4K40-RGB projector, that has taken large-scale projection to new heights”.
By introducing 3D projections for this innovative 'kinetic mural', “The various parties involved in this project have demonstrated how high-quality projections can create highly engaging visual experiences.”, Dempoya emphasizes.
Designed to incorporate TruLife electronics and Christie RealLaser lighting, The D4K40-RGB projector produces more than 90% Rec color space. 2020, thereby ensuring rich visuals, vibrant and realistic. Since its launch it has been adopted by users all over the world.
