Future Yard is a space designed for future musical groups and, with the help of Sennheiser, also offers a learning opportunity for novice sound engineers and event staff.

The purpose of this new space is to bring some of the young artists to the Wirral region and offer budding musicians and technicians from the town the opportunity to train and have a first experience on stage.. Sennheiser , brand that distributes Magnetron in Spain, contributes to the program with its audio technology and giving a day of specialized training.

Craig Pennington, co-founder of Future Yard, explains that this community space constitutes a framework for future musical groups. With the help of Sennheiser, also offers a learning opportunity for novice sound engineers and event staff.

Propeller is a program launched by Future Yard for budding musicians. It is a new and innovative incubator model thanks to which artists receive a mentorship structured around an individual development plan. In addition, they also have access to a very complete program of workshops, master classes and seminars, as well as the use of a quality space for rehearsals.

Sennheiser contributes to the program by providing a complete set of microphones in the performance spaces and studios of the venue, and will also organize next April a day of specialized training for aspiring engineers and artists.

"Sound Check is Future Yard's new training program that aims to introduce young people to the skills they need to pursue a career in the live music industry.", pennington explains.

This initiative is aimed at young people from among 16 and 24 years from the area, to which it offers a new way of access to the sector of live events. For young people it is an opportunity to learn how to put on a show and get to know, through the program, the different professions (sound engineer, event manager, lighting designer and even head of locker) and the skills needed to make a career in the live music industry.

Early 2022 a new version of the programme aimed at young people from 14 and 15 years, which is taught on Saturday mornings in the new Music Centre of Future Yard.

"Sennheiser staff will join us for the first time in April", adds Pennington. "They will provide specific training for the members of our program.. It is a proposal for multifaceted cooperation on the part of the company, because we know you can bring added value with specialized training on industry-standard hardware".

Sennheiser training includes courses on microphone technique and placement, several courses on wireless system fundamentals and a master class on wireless technology taught by rf experts from the technical applications engineering team.

Sound Check is an original concept that combines hands-on experience on a real stage with live performances in front of a paid audience.

"We will provide our training to local artists and aspiring event production staff.. We take into account different needs and diversity of backgrounds and circumstances, because we want to build and perfect these programs progressively over time. In addition, the course is fully recognised through the Arts Award from Trinity College London", continues Pennington.

The Future Yard project is based on three pillars: the venue and the main musical program (from jazz musicians on international tour to school bands); the development of emerging artists through Propeller, with five studios in the basement of the premises; and tutorials to develop transversal skills.
