The new Supercell offices have more than 500 altavoces Genelec

The Finnish mobile game company Supercell has installed in its new offices in Helsinki near 500 speakers Genelec of which some 300 son Smart IP.

“When we started building the new company headquarters, we needed to reimagine the spaces where we work. We wanted rock-solid audiovisual project management, what is it Akukon did for us together with Audico Systems Oy“, explains Markus Haikonen, Director of AV and Broadcast at Supercell.

Akukon is a reference in acoustics and AV design in Finland and collaborated with experts in audiovisual solutions, Audio, who were responsible for the design and integration of the systems.

“When designing these spaces - especially those dedicated to teams and meeting rooms- It was essential that they were easy to use and monitor and fit our needs. From an audio point of view, Genelec was the choice, especially the new Smart IP speakers. We use your speakers in all our offices worldwide, so it was a natural choice for this project as well.. “We saw that Smart IP with its integrated DSP was a great option for our team space and meeting room designs where there is no centralized DSP.”, continues Haikonen.

Regarding the installation and configuration of the room, The challenge was to respond to the variety of different spaces that required different approaches.. For team spaces and medium-sized Zoom rooms, In which the audio system is simple, two Genelec speakers and the DSP that they integrate have been used for equalization and volume control.

In larger rooms with more equipment, Smart IP Manager has been used to update the speakers firmware, while everything related to audio is managed by the processor Q-SYS from QSC and then sent to the speakers. The IP addresses were configured with a custom script and the speakers were named in Dante Controller. Monitoring is done through the Genelec API using custom Audico software.

In the two largest meeting rooms, three-way coaxial speakers The Ones from Genelec have been deployed as a primary system, with speakers 4430 Smart IP used for Voice Lift and as a delay system for the main speakers.

The Voice Lift system uses a combination of microphones and speakers, Strategically placed to subtly amplify the voice, so that a person speaking on one side of a large room can be heard at the same level on the opposite side, although it is 30 meters away.

Genelec systems also grace the main lobby, the gym, cafeteria and staff leisure facilities. Many of the speakers were later painted in custom colors to perfectly match the fantastic Supercell decor..
