MMM Migration Museum Boat

The Belgian Migration Museum, known as MMM (MigratieMuseumMigration) offers its visitors an inclusive and interactive tour with the help of laser projectors Barco G60-W7, made up of the audiovisual specialist Ocular.

The exhibitions offered MMM show the personal stories of the first generation of immigrant workers, expatriates and refugees, both in Brussels and in Europe. To support these emotional testimonials and offer an interactive experience to your visitors, The museum has used projection technology from the Belgian manufacturer Barco.

MMM Migration Museum BoatOne of its permanent exhibitions now offers an extra audiovisual dimension, composed of Ocular, through subtle projections that show content produced by yondr, how to cross the sea as an immigrant, with systems that make it seem like the visitor is the one making the journey.

How do you explain Sophie Desombere, de Ocular, “the challenge of this installation was to show this moving subject with respect, as well as engaging visitors in a serene way. That is why we choose to work with ultra-thin projection surfaces, getting a hologram effect, without detracting from other elements found in this space”.

MMM Migration Museum BoatFor this purpose, three single-chip laser-phosphor projectors of the model G60-W7 by boat, each with a power of 7.000 WUXGA lumens and resolution, that incorporate the software Projector Toolset from the Belgian manufacturer to facilitate its placement and management.

Compact format and ultra short distance lenses, the projectors, almost invisible in the room, prioritize immersion and storytelling of immigrants, with silent and interruption-free operation.
