laser projectors Christie have brought a new dimension to traditional tea arts in China with lively visual effects, that have served as a complement to this cultural ceremony and ritual of its preparation.

As part of the audiovisual project for a scientific event held at an innovation center located in the Zhangjiawan Design Town district (Beijing), the chinese specialist Dicction Science and Technology Development, partner the Christie, was responsible for supplying and installing the projectors of this manufacturer.

The novelty of this event is that it was the first time that projection technology was used to enhance the Chinese ritual of preparation, presentation and consumption of tea, an almost artistic and highly respected ceremony that has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years.

“The end user was looking for a laser projection solution bright, reliable and cost-effective to build an immersive art space dedicated to tea, that added a new dimension to this traditional art form - explains Leo Zhang, CEO of Diction-. At the same time, This installation aims to promote the use of projection in metaverse projects that combine physical and virtual experiences”.

Christie projectors were discreetly installed high above the tea room to display sharp, lifelike images, of 2.5×1,56 metros, of the large table that was used for its preparation, as well as on an adjacent gauze screen (in this case 4.72×2,95 metros) to create a immersive presentation environment.

A set of content with floral images inspired by nature was harmoniously combined with the physical objects and with the space created for the tea ceremony and the event.

This is what Zhang says., “The innovation center was impressed with the projectors' stable brightness and on/off contrast ratio of 3.000.000:1, which produces excellent image quality”.

Other aspects highlighted by Zhang about Christie projectors are “its silent operation and omnidirectional capabilities allow flexible and discreet placement in virtually any environment, including tight spaces. “The success of this installation has given us the confidence to undertake similar projects in the future.”.

April Qin, senior sales director of Christie's enterprise division in China, adds that “our projectors have perfectly demonstrated the transformative impact of projection technology on traditional Chinese tea ceremonies.”, with an incredible project that Dicction has completed in a week”.
