Meyer Sound Constellation Expands Sound Experience at Beverly Theater

the Beverly Theatre It is a multidimensional space for events that takes advantage of the best audio systems, video and lighting (AVL), designed by Coherent Design and installed by Solotech, including the sound flexibility of the acoustic system Constellation by Meyer Sound. An environment that seeks to create experiences that go far beyond traditional film projections.

The physical acoustics of the room are muffled to better fit a movie theater, but when you select a preset on the touchscreen, Constellation can implement voice elevation, allowing for the intelligibility of the spoken word throughout the space – from presenters or audience members- No individual handheld microphones.

the 146 Theatre seats are retractable, which allows to open the floor to accommodate more than 400 people for a wide variety of events, including live music. Constellation has presets to optimize room acoustics for any genre, From choral to orchestra and jazz.

All audio technologies, video and stage lighting have been designed by Coherent Design, under the direction of directors Kevin Potts, David Starck, Jarrod Hetzer (Theatrical lighting) and Jason Pritchard (Av).

“When the directors of the Rogers Foundation, Owner of the Theatre, They explained to me what they wanted to do, I thought of a Meyer Sound cinema system combined with Constellation”, clarifies Potts. “When we visit Meyer Sound's Pearson Theater in Berkeley and listen to the Constellation demonstration, The concept convinced”.

For film screenings, the cinema system is anchored at the front by three Acheron screen channel speakers 100 along with six cinema subwoofers X-800C for LFE. Fourteen compact wide-coverage speakers Ultra-X20XP Provide surround sound capability 7.1 and also integrate with Constellation active acoustics.

Constellation uses 63 Additional full-range speakers (Ashby-5C and MM-4XP) along with 16 subwoofers MM-10XP. Forty-nine capacitor mini-phones are used for environmental sensing. All of them in automated cable coils to raise and lower precisely depending on the current room mode, Typically music presets with flat floor or voice lift with sloping theater seats.

For events on the adjoining outdoor terrace, The enclosure also has a portable system with two compact speakers Ultra-X40, Normally pole-mounted on two subwoofers 900-CFL Placed on racks with wheels.

The supplier and integrator of all AVL systems has been Solotech, coordinated by Chief Development Officer Aaron Beck, Jason Bauer's on-site project management and Eric McFall's systems programming.
