RCF upgrades Stuttgart's MHP Arena audio to 1 megaWatt of power

Founded in the decade of 1930, MHP Arena Stuttgart has been the cornerstone of Bundesliga sporting events since 1963, becoming the first regional stadium to host a thousand matches of this competition.
After completing a renovation project, including new media infrastructure, the MHP Arena in Stuttgart will offer in its 61.000 seating and public areas a transformative sound quality, which improves the position of this venue on the world sports scene.
After carrying out demonstrations and evaluations of different proposals, has been chosen RCF technology for audio system, for which more than eleven tons of equipment have been installed, con mMore than four hundred speaker modules from this manufacturer to provide more than 1 megaWatt of continuous power in the enclosure.
The installation, that meets the standards of the UEFA and the FIFA, has received high praise since its release. Besides, The audio equipment also functions as a voice alarm and evacuation system to reinforce stadium security protocols.
In this project they have worked under the direction of Matthias Zorn, general director of Ebert engineers, Richard Merget, of RM Audio Engineering, Responsible for ensuring compliance with all specifications, together with the German technology company AVEO, in charge of the installation in collaboration with Marcus Bretschneider, director of stadium operations and services.

Georg Hofmann, head of RCF engineering support group, which has provided its experience in the planning and implementation of logistical and technological requirements, like the need for a system capable of handling extreme sound levels, which in turn guaranteed clear voice intelligibility throughout the stadium.
“The dual use of the system as a voice alarm plays a crucial role,” he says., as it helps in the effective evacuation of the stadium in case of emergency, without the need to install a secondary audio system”.
Installation includes 187 line array modules HL 40WP; 36 subwoofers HL 38-S; 16 trumpet speakers HL2290/HL2260; 73 speaker modules P 4228W y 32 Compact C45, that is fed with 66 amplifiers XPS 16KD of connected RCF on a Dante network.
The system has 264 canales, each one with 4.000 W continuous power. The plugins for Q-SYS, custom designed, allow you to control and monitor your entire sound infrastructure for seamless media management.
