Martin Audio WPL designs immersive dance floor at Sydney Plaza hotel

The new club Level One from this Australian hotel, where world-renowned DJs go, It has six differentiated areas with a powerful sound infrastructure configured with twenty-four WPL linear array units of Martin Audio and SXH218 hybrid subwoofers.

The emblematic Plaza Hotel from Sydney (Australia) has recently been transformed to position itself as a world-renowned entertainment venue. Originally opened in 1930 like cinema, This facility has undergone numerous modifications over the years.

With a striking façade in the style of a Spanish mission, property of Winchester Hotel Group and with the creative direction of Sarah y Ryan Maloney, its theater has been completely revitalized with the name of Level One.

At the moment, Level One has six different areas (including a renovated classic theater from the years 30). Ryan Maloney conceived this space as a Ibiza-inspired nightclub, which has been internationally recognized for its sound infrastructure, lighting and video wall, to which they go world reference DJ.

The installation project was awarded to Brendon Fava, of Xcite Audio Visual, who selected with the distributor Technical Audio Group (TAG) a range of products premium that complied with international specifications and that fell to the Martin Audio.

Anthony Russo, TAG technical director, opted for a six column solution to ensure that everyone within the sound field of the dance floor could enjoy a unique 360° experience. For this, they have been installed twenty-four Martin Audio WPL line array units in six locations.

“People rarely experience a high-power cabinet, concert style, that performs well within its limits while maintaining significant dynamic range. This is crucial to efficiently handle the massive dynamic range produced by international DJs.", explains Russo.

To complement the arrangements, a configuration has been selected six Martin Audio SXH218 hybrid subwoofers (2×18”) in the form of a pile. The main one is located at 2,5 meters high, allowing attendees to experience the full power when dancing alongside her.

The DJ booth is equipped with what Russo calls “Martin's SRM four-way Super Reference Monitors system.””. The SPL remains in the lobby, where eleven Martin Audio have been installed Blackline X8 complemented by three subwoofers SX112.
