The combination of servers Rogue Productions with multimedia software Pixera of BY Stumpfl Provides seamless integration of live camera images, with dynamic visual effects, synchronized with music and lighting.
In the dynamic world of concert tours, where creativity and technology intersect, Rogue Productions has carved a niche for itself by offering innovative multimedia solutions. Recently, the company has shown the capabilities of its rogue servers with the software multimedia Pixera of BY Stumpfl during the tour Sweat Tour, which featured the artists Charli XCX y Troye Sivan.
The North American creative content company Cour Design has designed this tour, whose production required a Seamless integration of live camera images with dynamic visual effects, a Precise synchronization with music and lighting, in addition to making real time adjustments.
“Cour Design contacted us - recalls Joe Vaughn, by Rogue Productions-. They wanted to go beyond the limits of traditional reproduction systems. Although other platforms are fine for already rendered content, most lack flexibility. Pixera offered the next step in quality and capacity, without the excessive costs of other high-end systems”.
Rogue Productions used two of its servers during a multi-user session, that controlled both the LED screens and the projection system of the tour. The team came up with a unique approach to get the “cinematic look” of the tour.
Live camera images were captured at 24 fps to achieve natural motion blur, while pre-rendered content was broadcast at 48 fps to ensure smooth playback for video and film look for live shots.
Pre-production for the tour involved a week of intensive programming in Peoria (Illinois), where the entire show was built on site with the real set. This hands-on approach allowed the team Take advantage of Pixera's real-time capabilities and make adjustments to perfectly align with Cour Design's creative vision.
Johnny Kingsbury, tour creative production designer, worked throughout the process with Joe Vaughn and his team to integrate video, lighting and music and offer an integrated experience.
“Editing the Pixera timeline has been a radical change for this project,” says Vaughn.; allowed us to adjust everything during rehearsals: effects, color correction and timing. That level of flexibility made the difference”.
During the test, Overall system latency was measured at just seven frames from camera to screen, of which three were attributed to the Led processor, “demonstrating the near-frictionless effectiveness of Pixera's architecture”, duck.
This success is already paving the way for future projects. Rogue Productions to book Troye Sivan's Australian tour and Charli XCX's UK tour, and both will be made with Pixera.
