System design included KSL8/KSL12 core clusters, accompanied by 10 SL-SUBs hung per side, further 24 SL-GSUBs stacked on the ground in an end-fire configuration. This was complemented by V8 and V12 boxes from d&b audiotechnik como front fills, with delays that provided KSL boxes, XS and Aerie V.

For the world tour Mathematics de Ed Sheeran was used a PA system with KSL speakers of the SL series d&b audiotechnik to have a flexible and light system, but without compromises in sound quality.

When the tour reached Bombay, your local pro audio specialist NJSM ProSound, which is part of Sound.com Group, supplied a KSL sound system for the leg carried out in India.

NJSM ProSound, based in Mumbai, supplied the KSL system of d&b for Ed Sheeran tour. The entire tour in India used a KSL system supplied by a single provider, highlighting the wide acceptance of the KSL system across the subcontinent. And something that is perhaps even more important: before starting the five concerts in cities in India and culminating in Delhi, the capital of the country, The first international concert was held in Bhutan, the small country of the Himalayas.

To ensure delivery of supply and system design, with all the logistical challenges inherent to a tour in such a vast subcontinent, NJSM ProSound team collaborated with Neil Lean, the EAS representative (Training and Application Assistance) of d&b in India.

The concerts on this leg of the tour were presented in a simplified format, a less complex configuration compared to the productions with a 360˚ circular stage seen in the previous sections. This last option was selected to reduce deployment challenges due to the tight schedule.

KSL was chosen from d&b because the production needed a top-level system that was available in several cities to avoid burdening the touring PA and, at the same time, supplement the rider with local supplies if necessary.

Thanks to cardioid performance of KSL and its full bandwidth directivity, It also provides consistent, controlled high-quality sound in every room., from the same stage and reaching the end of the public areas.

The system design included main clusters of KSL8/KSL12 (16 boxes per side), accompanied by 10 SL-SUBs hanging by side, further 24 SL-GSUBs placed in a stack on the ground in a configurationend-fire’, that is to say, aligned on the main axis of propagation. All this was complemented with V8 boxes y V12 of d&b como front fills, with delays that provided cajas KSL, XS and V series, depending on the specific needs of each venue.

The most important challenge for the team was transportation logistics. India is almost the same size as Europe, excluding Russia, and the landing of all the cargo in the corresponding city first thing in the morning had to be set up as a system at 10 a.m.. Another logistical challenge was the need to ensure that the correct connectivity and amplifier racks were available in each venue..

Thanks to the ease of implementation of the system d&b, with its own platform and integrated rigging solutions, in addition to the on-site expert assistance provided by d&bIndia, the system was conveniently hung and adjusted at each concert venue. KSL's exceptional cardioid performance, the defining characteristic of the aerie SL by d&b, guaranteed that the entire audience would enjoy the music without distortions or feedback, a solution that fits such an important artist around the world.

“The cardioid pattern of the SL series allowed us to present the system without concerns about feedback generated by the guitars Ed uses on stage”, explains Neil Lean of d&b. “The best way to judge a touring PA system is the consistency it offers, show after show, and this system worked throughout the tour. Production equipment, which included representatives of the company AEG and its partner in India, BookMyShow, “They were very happy with the quality that the system offered”.

Ed Sheeran's tour sound system, formed by Simon Kemp at FoH and systems engineer Adam Wells, They echo the positive comments from the public and express their admiration not only for exceptional audio quality but also for the commitment and professionalism of the local team.
