d&b audiotechnik demonstrates the potential of GSL in Spanish macro festivals

The GSL cardioid system d&b audiotechnik has been the core of the sound used in large festivals in Madrid and Valencia of Sharemusic!, como ‘Love the 90s’, ‘Love the Twenties’ e ‘I Love Reggaeton’.

In collaboration with the technical team of d&b Iberia, the producer Sharemusic! has designed a advanced sound system to optimize the sound quality in the reference macro festivals Love the 90s, Love the Twenties e I Love Reggaeton, celebrated in the summer season in the Miguel Ríos fairground of Rivas Vaciamadrid and in the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia.

With a total capacity of 144.000 personas between both cities, The sound used has been based on the cardioid d technology GSL&b, which was complemented by KSL fixes, J series and SL-Sub in-line subwoofers from this manufacturer.

The cardioid technology of d&b facilitates a powerful coverage, uniform and precise towards the public, while minimizes the noise impact on the nearby urban environment to the venues where these festivals are celebrated.

In this sense, One of the main technical challenges has been to maintain a pPowerful and homogeneous sound pressure in the audience area, between 22.000 y 35.000 people approximately, depending on the capacity of each festival, without compromising noise levels in the surroundings.

The team of d&b audiotechnik has devised a cardioid solution with the aim of offering powerful coverage, uniform and precise, improving the listening experience, in addition to minimizing said sound impact.

The solution has been implemented by Audiovisual Fluge, who has installed the sound system in collaboration with d&b Iberia and the Sharemusic team!, to overcome the technical and acoustic challenges of these macro festivals and ensure optimal performance.

“On this tour we decided to choose, largely, d&b due to noise pollution, since it offers us real managerial control, relying on ArrayProcessing and in its cardioid typology, "which is capable of obtaining naturalness and homogeneity and at the same time giving you flexibility to omit areas.", explains Fernando Quintana, Sharemusic FOH technician!

The core of everything is the GSL system, the most powerful speaker in the d portfolio&b, that integrates the cardioid function natively and allows the sound to be directed towards the audience in a controlled and precise way.

The GSL main system has been complemented by KSL and J series arrays for exterior reinforcements and areas of delay, plus a SL-Sub in-line subwoofer array for powerful audio coverage. low end.

This configuration allows a homogeneous sound distribution, with optimal clarity and definition throughout the support area, y avoids unwanted interactions and returns. In turn, minimizes sound emission towards the rear of the stage and achieves a notable reduction in noise pollution in residential areas close to the venue.
