Illuminated goods by Sala Lisinski, cultural and musical reference of Zagreb
La Sala de Conciertos Vatroslav Lisinski de Zagreb (Croatia) reinforces its technical infrastructure with the incorporation of new luminaires Robe, supplied by Croatian distributor LOW Studio, as part of a modernization process aimed at optimizing the versatility and lighting quality of its productions.
This iconic venue is well known for hosting great musical shows, conferences and congresses. Inaugurated in 1973 and named after the Croatian composer Vatroslav Lisinski, the room is famous for its acoustic quality, its central location and its multi-genre programming, both in its main room, with capacity for 1.800 personas, like in your small room, con 300 seats.
The venue has been investing in Robe moving lights for around ten years and now has 20 LED Spiider, 8 MegaPoints, 12 LEDBeam 350 y four LEDWash 600 in the main room and 8 LEDBeam 150 in the small room, which are serviced and used by a four-person lighting team led by Dubravko Laslavić, carrying 25 years as lighting manager.
The Spiider and the LEDBeam 350 They are the most recent acquisitions, delivered in the last three years by the Croatian distributor of Robe, LOW Studio, as part of a technical update to ensure Lisinski can continue to deliver the best production values to its artists and diverse audience base.
During the annual season of 10 months are represented around 500 shows, and in both rooms you can enjoy a mix of rock and pop, as well as classical and orchestral works. This wide range of performances means that lighting must be flexible and offer a wide range of possibilities..
The lighting technician Dragan Micić joined about three and a half years ago, familiar with Robe from his work at the Croatian National Theater, so he was very happy when it was decided to add more Robe to the team. “When visiting teams work here and see that we have Robe on the team, They immediately recognize it as a good, solid brand that everyone is happy to use”, comment.
Bright and silent equipment
The main room is large, with a scenario of 25 meters wide, so brightness was a fundamental characteristic when choosing equipment, a process that also went through competitive bidding, and silent operation was another, especially for classic shows. It is also analyzed and compared the CRI and the mix of colors between the different options, and Robe turned out to be the best in all these aspects.
The reliability was another important factor, as well as the support you know you can expect from LAV Studio., explained Dragan, who considers the Spiider to be one of the best LED washes produced to date.
The lighting technician Ivan Ivancevic agrees and assures that the proposal “Robe offered very good value for money and great overall performance”. In general, the in-house team is responsible for lighting approximately two-thirds of the shows presented each season, while the remaining third has their own designers or lighting directors. “Most people are very happy to see Robe in our specifications”, commented Ivančević.
In addition to the fact that the lighting department had a say in the selection of the equipment, the general technical director of the venue, Nikola Tuškan, also participated, so the decisions were collective and based on the different offers that were presented. Finally, it should be noted that most of Robe's equipment remains in place throughout the season., installed on bars on the stage, and they also hope to convert their current floor specials package to include more Robe products.
