The German manufacturer of Osram lighting systems and some of its subsidiaries, including Traxon and Siteco, have been in charge of the project of LED lighting of the Stadium Arena Corinthians of Sao Paulo on the occasion of the World Cup the World Cup of Brazil 2014 FIFA, which will have its facade a huge panel of 170 meters long composed of more than 34,000 leds.
The World Cup Stadium Arena Corinthians of Sao Paulo has on its facade with a giant panel, 170 meters long by 20 high, formed by more than 34,000 LED luminaires from the German supplier OSRAM and its subsidiary Traxon Technologiesthat it has become so far the largest in the world of this type installed in an enclosure, turning it into a huge box of light in this great Brazilian city.
This LED panel will be used during the World Cup of Brazil 2014, which will begin in the middle of next month, as a screen to display outdoor competitions that are held during this important sporting event, results of matches, interesting info as well as any related video.
As responsible for the lighting of the stadium project, Osram has added four high definition inside of the enclosure LED displays (each 30 × 7, 5 meters), so fans can view every detail matches, images in slow motion moves of interest, as well as the results.
Both the facade lighting luminaires inside the arena and the high density of the field of play lighting system is controlled and managed from a centralized system. More than 350 luminaires have been installed in this last area of Sitecosubsidiary of Osram, which combine with the German manufacturer halogenated mercury lamps, to the extent that this project has passed the demanding requirements of lighting quality specified by FIFA for the playing field.
So Klaus-Günter Vennemann, Osram Executive pointed out: "the modern lighting solutions offered by Osram provide the ultimate in modern lighting for the field of play, as well as ensuring brilliant images in HD quality, with performance up to 50% greater than those specified by FIFA".
In this sense, the power of lighting used in this stadium is 5,000 lux, doubling to the Osram installed years ago at the Allianz Arena in Munich, but has been optimized for energy efficiency, which reduces the number of lighting points, as well as the costs of installation and maintenance.
