Christie Solaria premieres in Spain at the Malaga Festival
Kelonik installs a Christian CP2220 in the Room 1 of the remodeled Albéniz Cinemas for the digital screenings of the Malaga Spanish Film Festival that is being held until today 14 April. MasterImage was chosen as the 3D system., while the installed server is a Doremi.
The Malaga Spanish Film Festival has acquired a Christie Solaria CP2220 digital cinema projector with DLP Cinema 4K-ready technology to equip the Hall 1 of the remodeled Albéniz Cinemas, one of the main venues of the Festival, which celebrates its thirteenth edition until 24 April. Thanks to an agreement signed with the city council, This recently remodeled cinema complex will be managed by the Festival itself. The Festival had been using different Christie projectors for several years, como el Roadster S+16K, the HD8K and the HD6K, for digital and high definition projections of the contest. This year, The organization wanted to go one step further and decided to purchase a DLP Cinema projector that met the specifications of the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI). In this way, the Festival went to Kelonik, Christie partner in Spain, to install a Christie CP2220 digital cinema projector, which is being used for the Festival's digital and 3D projections. Franjo Parejo, executive director of the Malaga Festival, commented that “Christie has always supported our Festival, giving us their projectors selflessly during the last editions, and showing a position of total collaboration with Spanish cinema. That's why, when this year we decided to buy our first digital cinema projector, We did not hesitate to go to Christie. The Christie CP2220 projector has been installed in the Living Room 1 from the Albéniz Cinema, which has a capacity for 350 personas. MasterImage was chosen as the 3D system., while the installed server is from the Doremi brand. The Albéniz Cinema opened its doors in 1945 and currently has four rooms where films from the ZonaZine sections are screened during the Festival., Latin American Cinema, Documentaries and Short Films. Looking ahead to the coming years, The digitalization of the three remaining rooms is planned, also with Christie Solaria series projectors. The Christie Solaria Series is the first digital cinema solution based on DLP Series technology. 2 by Texas Instruments. The Christie CP2220 projector offers a brightness of 22.000 lumens, It is available in 2K and 4K-ready, and features Christie Brilliant3D technology.
