Christie expands production with new factory in China
New facility in Shenzhen will significantly expand company's production capacity, with Christie Solaria projectors expected to roll off the new assembly line in July. Production will begin with the Christie CP2220 and the Christie CP2210, following next with the Christie CP2230.
Christie has just opened a new factory in Shenzhen, China, to meet the growing global demand for digital cinema projectors to display 2D and 3D movies. The new facility will significantly expand the company's production capacity, with Christie Solaria projectors expected to roll off the new assembly line in July. Production will begin with the Christie CP2220 and the Christie CP2210, following next with the Christie CP2230. Shenzhen factory will initially feed the Asia Pacific market, freeing up capacity at Christie's North American plant to increase supply to the rest of the world. Ihor Stech, Vice President of Operations at Christi has pointed out that “production in China opens up new and important opportunities for us.”, as well as great flexibility in shipping, which will allow us to better serve our customers around the world. It is the ideal place, since a large part of our raw material comes from the Asian region, so we can convert it more efficiently into the final product. With the first projectors feeding the Asian markets, we will also save on import duties.
