Atlona's digital connectivity solutions help users at Candlestick Park
El Candlestick Park, a historic American football stadium in the city of San Francisco (EU), home of the 49ers, has chosen digital connectivity solutions from the company Atlona as part of a new digital menu board system to provide relevant information to fans who come to the venue.
Atlona, manufacturer of next-generation technological solutions for consumer applications, home theater, computing, systems integration, broadcast, entertainment, medical use and digital signage, distributed in Spain and Portugal by Albiral Display Solutions, just announced the use of its products by the San Francisco 49ers and Centerplate, the largest hotel partner of North American sports stadiums, convention centers and entertainment areas, as part of the digital menu board system at Candlestick Park. Various HDMI amplifiers from Atlona (AT-HD-V12 1*2), HDMI EDID emulators (AT-HDSync) and HDMI cables have been used to send signal to more than 100 screens that digitally display menus.
According to Kevin Goldsmith, director of Ping HD, the installation company: “In a facility of this magnitude, with screens located so far apart , It was quite a challenge to send HDMI signal from a single source to more than 100 monitors, maintaining the feed 5 V to ensure that no screen was turned off due to inactivity of the HDMI ports. We have been Atlona customers for some time and have gained great confidence in this brand's solutions.; "We don't even consider other brands for a project of this size.".
Instead of using a single long cable, degrading signal quality, Customer relied on HDMI distribution amplifiers to ensure the highest possible video quality. The AT-HD-V12 takes the input signal from a master monitor and splits it into two HDMI signals., which are sent to two more screens through Atlona HDMI cables. To provide constant feeding, HDMI EDID emulators were used (AT-HDSync) to output the input HDMI signal to 5 V current, that prevents the screens from entering “stand by” mode.
The system is not only used to allow customers to see their choice of food and drink, but also to display important information about the stadium as well as emergency messages. Digital menus are a success, and the customer appreciates the simplicity and clarity of the messages and the level of integration obtained through the use of Atlona products. Another important factor is ease of use; fully autonomous, which avoids having to dedicate a person to monitor the system.
