IndigoVision has released a new edition of the SMS4 software version 5 and the Camera Gateway, that allows the integration of IP cameras from leading manufacturers into the company's management software suite.

The manufacturer of IP video security solutions, IndigoVision, has announced the release of its SMS4 software version 5, included in the Camera Gateway, that allows the integration of IP cameras from leading manufacturers into the IndigoVision SMS4 system, making it easy to upgrade customers' IP and CCTV surveillance systems, to a branded quality solution.

Camera Gateway allows third-party cameras to connect to IndigoVision SMS4 using its native protocols and allows users to view streams in the IndigoVision control center. Cameras can be controlled, look and record in the same way as IndigoVision cameras. Camera Gateway also supports PTZ control, Markers and motion recording. Camera Gateway is a software service that can be installed on a Windows-based server, giving customers total flexibility. The service allows multiple clients to stream and view video from the same camera.

Marcus Kneen, CEO of IndigoVision, has declared: "Camera Gateway is the product that will change the market and make IndigoVision's SMS4 the open system of choice.. Because we offer ONVIF support and integration with other management programs, SMS4 version 5 and Camera Gateway will establish IndigoVision as one of the most open IP security systems on the market.".

SMS4 version 5 also includes motion recording and markers for cameras from IndigoVision and compatible manufacturers. Motion recording allows users to reduce storage by setting the system to record video only when there is activity, while video image markers make it easier to find and review key evidence. Users can update their SMS4 software to the version 5 through the Software Update Program (Sup) by IndigoVision.
