CSC and Daon launch joint biometric authentication solution for banks

CSC and Daon have joined forces to develop ConfidentID Mobile, a biometric authentication service that helps banks reduce their risks and protect their customers from fraud and identity threats, providing security for all types of transactions.

The company specialized in security solutions, CSC, has announced that it has partnered with Daon, identity authentication technology and services developer, to launch a biometric authentication service to help banks reduce risk and protect their customers against fraud and identity theft. The offer, ConfidentID Mobile, is based on Daon's IdentityX platform and provides trusted identity authentication, inside and outside the band, for online channel transactions, mobile and other, allowing financial institutions to customize the level of security required for different types of transactions.

The service works by combining passwords, personal identification numbers (PIN) and public key infrastructure security architecture (PKI), along with optional biometric data, such as facial recognition, voice recognition and palm identity. Location intelligence is also used for verification through the global positioning system (GPS), IP location and cellular triangulation. ConfidentID Mobile does not need additional hardware and supports latest generation smartphones and tablets. Authenticates individuals and their transactions and helps organizations meet strict requirements, including those prescribed by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).
