CSC and Daon have joined forces to develop ConfidentID Mobile, a biometric authentication service that helps banks reduce their risks and protect their customers from fraud and identity threats, providing security for all types of transactions.

The company specialized in security solutions, CSC, has announced that it has partnered with Daon, developer of identity authentication technology and services, to launch a biometric authentication service to help banks reduce risk and protect their customers from fraud and identity theft. The offer, ConfidentID Mobile, is based on Daon's IdentityX platform and provides reliable identity authentication, in and out of the band, for online channel transactions, mobile and other, allowing financial institutions to customize the level of security required for different types of transactions.

The service works by combining passwords, personal identification numbers (PIN) and public key infrastructure security architecture (PKI), along with optional biometrics, such as facial recognition, voice recognition and palm identity. Location intelligence is also used for verification through the global positioning system (GPS), ip localization and cellular triangulation. ConfidentID Mobile does not need additional hardware and supports state-of-the-art smartphones and tablets. Authenticates individuals and their transactions and helps organizations meet stringent requirements, including those prescribed by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).

Large banking operations

ConfidentID Mobile comprises both a server application and an application on the banking customer's mobile device. When the customer initiates a transaction on the bank's website or mobile apps, such as transferring money from one account to another, a request is made to the user for authentication. ConfidentID Mobile directly informs the service provider about the successful authentication in the final part without any further action by the customer.
