Panasonic has organized at the London Display Experience Center at Pinewood Studios, in London (United Kingdom), a day to show its latest AV solutions in professional projection and display, a showcase that the Japanese firm has taken advantage of to announce its incorporation into the video wall market.
Located in the heart of the famous Pinewood Studios, en Buckinghamshire, outside London (United Kingdom), and a few meters from the facilities where the James Bond films are filmed, the most famous secret agent in the world, Panasonic has opened the doors of its Panasonic Experience Center, also known as LDEC (London Display Experience Centre), to publicize the new solutions of the Japanese multinational in digital signage screens, projectors, interactive whiteboards…intended for retail markets, public display, corporate and educational.
The great news of this event, which will be repeated in the near future at Panasonic's offices in Wiesbaden (Germany), has been the announcement of the new TH-55LFV50U display of 55″, specially designed for use in the video wall market. This display for large signage incorporates an ultra-thin bezel (5,3 mm.) and a shine of 800 candelas, offering great visibility, a wide viewing angle and low levels of energy consumption.
In this sense, Yojiro Matsubara, director of Professional Displays business unit in Europe at Panasonic, has manifested: “This year is going to be key for the AV industry, pushing technological boundaries in every aspect, both in large sporting events such as the Olympic Games and in outdoor signage experiences, and we're excited to demonstrate what our most cutting-edge display technologies can do”.
Panasonic has also introduced the new TH-70LF50 and TH-80LF50 large format displays, of 70 y 80 inches, respectively. Designed to be used as digital signage support for a wide variety of spaces, like sporting events, museums and shopping centers, the new screens offer a high contrast ratio (5.000:1) and luminosity (700cd/m2), which ensures excellent visibility regardless of viewing angles.
With just 89 mm thickness, These exceptionally lightweight displays come equipped with long-lasting panels, allowing continuous operation 24/7, and with energy efficient LED backlight, which helps reduce electricity consumption.
Besides, the company has shown the TH-42LFP outdoor LCD screen, available in 42″ y 47″, resistant to weather and high temperatures. This series comes with a sleek, corrosion-resistant aluminum bezel and features a luster of 1000 cd2 for excellent visibility in any application with very bright ambient light.
New plasma display and interactive whiteboards
Another innovation from Panasonic has been the interactive plasma display, offering excellent visibility and operability, taking advantage of all the advantages of free-emission plasma panel displays, including a large screen, a very rich color expression, a wide viewing angle, and high speed response. Available in formats 65, 85 y 103 inches, The new interactive HD plasma screen incorporates wireless connectivity and Panasonic pixel-by-pixel technology, which allows displaying the native font without size variation.
Suitable for interactive visualization applications, and also for use as a monitor in a meeting room, incorporates a new electronic pen system that allows high-speed drawing and smooth, very precise writing. Up to four different electronic pens can be used simultaneously. Panasonic's new interactive plasma display can be installed vertically or horizontally, being possible to divide the screen into two areas, with the upper part to display images and the lower section to be used as an electronic whiteboard.
At the same time, The Japanese multinational has also exhibited its UB-T580 and UB-T880 interactive whiteboards, that allow the creation of effective and attractive teaching materials and promote a new concept of visual and interactive learning between teacher and student. With a hard surface, multi-zone and touch, allow you to write on the board up to 3 students at the same time and interact manually with photos, data and text.
A pen or any other teaching object, like a telescopic pointer, can be used to write on the blackboard. When connecting a PC with Internet access and a projector, You can display a large amount of information from the Internet or play any file you have on your computer.. The UB-T880 model includes built-in speakers, very useful in classes where multimedia content is used and there is no prior installation of sound.
Expansion of the range of projectors
Within its extensive catalog of projectors, Panasonic has announced the launch of the PT-RZ470 and PT-RZ370 1-chip DLP series, that replace the conventional lamp with the new laser diode/LED technology to obtain a brightness of more than 3.000 lumens. Available in two different resolutions: 1080p (1.920 x 1.080) and WXGA (1.280 x 800), The PT-RZ470 and PT-RZ370 series offer up to 20.000 hours of virtually maintenance-free operation, long-lasting high brightness levels and great image quality.
PT-RZ470 and PT-RZ370 projectors turn on and reach maximum brightness virtually instantly, no warm-up time required, allowing them to be used immediately. The PT-RZ470 series accepts 360 Installation degrees and vertical mode projection. No intricate mirrors are needed to make these special projections, changing and expanding the way projectors can be used in a wide variety of environments.
Both models are compatible with Digital Link, based on Valens HDBaseT technology, allowing you to have an easy and simple digital connection of HDMI and other uncompressed HD audio and video control commands over a single Cat5e/6 LAN cable up to 100 metros. Another new Panasonic projector also has Digital Link, the PT-VW431D, which offers a high luminosity of 4.300 lumens, a WXGA resolution and a contrast ratio of 3.500:1 in a compact body. If used together with the new ET-YFB100 switcher or other switches with HDBaseT chipset, Projector installation is easier than ever, since it does not need any external receiver.
The PT-VW431D is equipped with a micro-cut pleated filter that maximizes the replacement cycle of more than 4.000 hours, helping to reduce maintenance time and costs. Besides, The PT-VW431D ensures image quality in very clear rooms thanks to Panasonic's Daylight View Basic technology. The projector's built-in sensor detects and measures the amount of ambient light, and the Daylight View function adjusts the image according to lighting conditions..
Panasonic has also developed the portrait function for its PT-DZ21K projectors, which have a luminosity of 20.000 lumens. The portrait function will allow the DZ21K to be rotated horizontally to project vertical images. Also includes features such as a four-lamp system and installation flexibility with a variety of optional lenses, geometric fit function and network functions. Portrait mode will expand the use of the DZ21K in different applications.
Wireless projection with the ET-UW100
The Japanese firm has also launched a new version of its Easy Wireless Stick, ET-UW100, a USB device that makes wireless projection possible on Panasonic 'wireless ready' projectors and its professional screens. The ET-UW100 has been designed with speed and simplicity of use in mind., to allow a fast wireless connection from the computer to the projector or screen and without the need to download any software. Valid for both Windows and Mac OS users, The Easy Wireless Stick enables a secure computer-to-computer wireless connection to your projector..
And as icing on the cake, At the Panasonic Experience Center, a recreation of a 3D mapping made with Panasonic projectors using special geometric calibration software could be seen., replica of a stage recreated for a concert hall.
