The virtual telepresence specialist, Video, has launched a new product called VidyoWay, a free service that complements the company's portfolio of videoconferencing services, VidyoConferencing, aiming to accelerate market growth and offer free Virtual MCU from Polycom, Cisco / Tandberg, LifeSize and Microsoft Lync endpoints.

Video has announced a revolutionary new leap to make business video communications universally available. The VidyoWay service is the first free interconnectivity service to support business-quality multi-provider video conferencing for multi-party or point-to-point meetings.. Use a simple self-service interface, VidyoWay connects Cisco systems, Polycom, LifeSize and other H.323 and SIP-based room systems with Microsoft Lync clients, mobile devices and phones.

VidyoWay addresses the need for interconnection between proprietary business solutions and UC without the high costs and complexities that end users encounter today.. VidyoWay service creates a business community of video conferencing users, regardless of your ultimate goals, through a free cloud-based meeting space that extends the reach of video conferencing beyond specialized rooms or the limitations of user location or technology compatibility. By enabling the use of video conferencing beyond the boundaries of the enterprise and making B2B video conferencing as accessible and easy to use as audio conferencing, VidyoWay will drive rapid market growth through a network effect created by increased usage and will complement and accelerate sales of the VidyoConferencing platform.

Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder of Vidyo, has pointed out that “Widespread adoption of video conferencing has been inhibited, to date, due to low quality user experiences, high costs and manual connection processes. The business process to achieve interconnectivity is very expensive and cumbersome. VidyoWay offers free connectivity faithful to legacy systems through a free conference room in the sky. ”

For your part, Brian Riggs, Research Director at Current Analysis, has pointed out that “Multi-vendor interoperability is a real pain point in the video conferencing industry. The interconnection of video conferencing systems that companies have implemented is certainly possible, but it is often complicated and expensive. A service like VidyoWay should have considerable appeal among businesses looking for a simple way to make video communication as common as phone calls., at no cost to the end user. Vidyo continues to dramatically change the economics of B2B video conferencing.”

VidyoWay also removes another interconnectivity barrier, the need for a global directory of video terminals, by creating a community of users who can simply invite participants from their own address book to a secure virtual meeting place. Using a capacity “Click-to-Connect”, Colleagues or clients can instantly join calls from legacy systems, UC devices or VidyoConferencing solutions. For users who do not have access to business video communications solutions, VidyoWay offers a free mobile client for tablets and smartphones.

Shapiro added that “VidyoWay adds significant value to VidyoConferencing developments by creating the 'network effect', expanding the universe of business contacts that can be connected through an easy-to-use interconnection service that supports seamless interoperability with H.323 and SIP, MS Lync and voice endpoints. At the same time, our resellers and service providers will continue to offer our disruptive capabilities of our VidyoConferencing system from telepresence via desktop to enjoy free mobile connectivity to the VidyoWay network”.
