Senior Vice President EMEA (Europa, Middle East, Africa and Russia) for Cisco South region, Jordi Botifoll, has been named new leader for the Latin American region of the North American company.

Cisco has announced the appointment of Jordi Botifoll as new leader for the Latin American region. Botifoll replaces Jaime Vallés, who has recently been appointed head of Cisco for the Asia Pacific region, Japan and China. Botifoll was previously senior vice president EMEA (Europa, Middle East, Africa and Russia) for the southern region, which includes Cyprus, Spain, France, Greece, Israel, Italia, Malta and Portugal and has a track record of success driving Cisco's growth in Southern Europe.

Chuck Robbins, Cisco senior vice president for the Americas, has pointed out that “Latin America represents a huge future opportunity for Cisco in terms of growth and innovation, and we are delighted that Jordi is our new leader for this important region. With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, Jordi has extensive knowledge in personnel management, business transformation, technological architectures, software and services. His proven track record in leading transformations, drive innovation, Creating high-performing teams and establishing strong relationships with business and government leaders make him the ideal choice to lead the Cisco team in Latin America.”.

Botifoll joined Cisco in 1999 as general director of Cisco Spain, and under his leadership the Spanish subsidiary grew more than one 100 percent during the first year. In the year 2000 was promoted to general director for Iberia. He later became vice president for Mediterranean Geography, and under this mandate the region became one of Cisco's fastest growing areas in Europe until 2008. In 2011 appointed senior vice president EMEA (Europa, Middle East, Africa and Russia) for the southern region.

Before joining Cisco, Botifoll was general director of the Corporate Market at Retevisión, the second largest service provider in Spain, and held various positions of responsibility at Lotus Development Software and IBM. His professional experience began at NCR where he performed various sales management tasks..
