JVC expands its line of 4K projectors, that incorporate e-shift2 technology
JVC has announced an expanded new line of projectors that offer significant improvements in image quality and enhanced e-shift technology that converts and scales 2D content to a 4K signal.. The new line includes four new Procision series models -DLA-X95R, FOR-X75R, DLA-X55R y DLA-X35-, and five of the Reference series -DLA-RS66, DLA-RS56, DLA-RS4810, DLA-RS48 y DLA-RS46-, all 3D enabled.
JVC has added nine new models to its projector portfolio based on improved 4K upscaling technology for 2D material, baptized as ‘e-shift2’. Other improvements in this new line of projectors include a new lighting system and a new wire grid polarization technology that works in combination with the e-shift2 to produce higher levels of native contrast..
The new JVC projectors belong to the Procision series - models DLA-X95R, FOR-X75R, DLA-X55R and DLA-X35- and the dVision Reference -DLA-RS66 professional series, DLA-RS56, DLA-RS4810, DLA-RS48 y DLA-RS46-. All models are 3D enabled and all, except the base models of each series, they provide e-shift2 it, the Japanese company has reported.
e-shift technology
JVC has developed the e-shift system to establish a new trend towards projectors capable of outputting 4K level video resolution. e-shift technology converts and upscales 2D HD content to a 4K signal (3,840 by 2, 160 pixels) and displays it in full 4K precision. System produces more than double the horizontal and vertical resolution of Full HD images (1920 by 1080), and four times the number of total pixels (more than 8 megapixels). The system dramatically reduces image artifacts in images projected on larger screen sizes. The new and improved e-shift2 technology, available in seven models, also provides higher native contrast in combination with a new wire-grid biasing engine.
Other improvements to the line include new 2K to 4K upscaling technology using JVC's proprietary algorithms that replaces a two-band filter with an eight-band filter to apply more correction to more areas of the image.. This provides a noticeable improvement with any compatible 2D signal.
Five preset modes plus power off are included in the multi-pixel control to optimize the performance of different contents. According to JVC, 3D performance has been improved in projectors with new circuitry and a new optical engine that reduces crosstalk.
A new lighting system, including a new lamp and power supply, offers “a significant improvement in brightness over lamp life”, and the lamp warranty has been extended to one year or 1.000 hours. In addition, Native contrast has been improved on most models using polarization network cable technology, optimizing each frame to reproduce peak whites and deep blacks.
The DLA-X95R and DLA-RS66 offer a native contrast ratio of 130.000:1; el DLA-X75R y el DLA-RS56, a ratio of 90.000:1; and the DLA-X555, el DLA-X35, el DLA-RS4810, the DLA-RS48 and the RS46-DLA a native contrast ratio of 50.000:1.
Other improvements in the line are:
• New active shutter glasses for 3D viewing using RF technology instead of IR for better stabilized timing and longer range;
• A remote control application for tablets and smartphones;
• Additional lens memory settings to store focus settings, Custom zoom and pan/tilt lens shift – 10 pair el DLA-X75R, el DLA-X95R, the DLA-RS56 and the RS66-DLA and 5 pair el DLA-X35, el DLA-X55R, el FOR -RS46, el DLA-RS48 y el DLA-RS4810. JVC has indicated that this allows for a constant height display of 4:3, 16:9, 2.35:1 or any other scope content without an additional anamorphic lens;
• Pincushion adjustment that corrects the image when using a curved screen;
• New Eco mode in standby that reduces energy consumption.
The DLA-X95R and DLA-RS66 offer 1.200 lumens of brightness and a native contrast ratio of 130.000:1. For 3D visualization, Both models come with two pairs of PK-AG3 RF 3D glasses and one PK-EM2 3D signal emitter.. For your part, the DLA-X75R and DLA-RS56 offer 1.200 lumens and a native contrast of 90.000:1.
El DLA-X95R, el DLA-X75R, DLA-RS66 and DLA-RS56 are scheduled for THX 3D certification testing.
El DLA-X55R, DLA-RS48 and DLA-RS4810 feature e-shift2 and color management system, five lens memory positions, 1.300 lumens of brightness and a native contrast ratio of 50.000:1. The DLA-X35 and DLA-RS46 are 3D-enabled projectors with 1.300 Lumens Brightness and Contrast Ratio 50.000:1. The DLA-X35 is available with a black or white case.
