NEC Display Solutions Europe has begun distributing VUKUNET in the Old Continent, the Internet-based platform that connects all Digital Out-of-Home networks (DOOH) in order to simplify the planning and booking of a digital signage advertising campaign. The first company to take advantage of this new solution was the German agency OMG Outdoor, implementing a DOOH network for the magazine Brigitte in the Edeka supermarket chain.

NEC Display Solutions Europe has launched VUKUNET on the European market, the ad serving platform for Digital Out-of-Home networks (DOOH). All the VUKUNET platform requires to transform screens into advertising media is an Internet connection. NEC's new solution connects DOOH network providers with media agencies to simplify the entire work process of Digital Out-of-Home campaigns. The platform is independent of all hardware and software, enabling seamless communication with VUKUNET for all content management systems and does not require changes to existing infrastructures.

Dirk Hülsermann, DOOH Solutions Manager at NEC Display Solutions Europe, has manifested: “Although DOOH is a digital advertising medium, Media agencies were previously unable to plan and book efficient and effective Digital Out-of-Home campaigns.. The reason is that the networks in this diverse market all speak a different technical language.. VUKUNET is the solution to this problem. This cloud-based application allows Digital Out-of-Home media operators to consolidate their networks on the platform. This greatly simplifies the booking process for media agencies.”

Germany and the United Kingdom are the first European markets in which VUKUNET has been launched. A number of partner companies have already been testing the ad serving platform and the very positive response from pilot customers and European media experts will help drive the global expansion of this solution. Based on the tests carried out, NEC is able to support the use of the new VUKUNET application from the beginning.

Digital signage in German supermarkets

OMG Outdoor, the Omnicom Media Group agency specialized in Digital Out-of-Home media, has already launched the first advertising campaign with VUKUNET in Germany. The client is Brigitte, a German women's magazine. In total, 607 Establishments of the Edeka supermarket chain are showing advertisements for this publication throughout the country. Located at the entrances and in the checkout area or in the center of the supermarket, Strategically placed monitors display advertisements through the VUKUNET system directly where purchasing decisions are made. The ads have borrowed their design from the magazine's own advertising campaign.

DOOH Network Configuration for Brigitte has been the result of a collaboration between OMG Outdoor and Neo Advertising for the marketing of a digital signage network in more than 607 Edeka stores throughout Germany.

Matthias Grawitter, director general de OMG Outdoor, has pointed out: “NEC's VUKUNET platform offers customers like Brigitte clear benefits. The new solution simplifies processes to allow national campaigns to be planned faster and more transparently than ever before.. We hope the platform sets new standards in digital outdoor advertising”.

For your part, the company Wonderworks Walkway Media is VUKUNET's first partner in the UK. The company operates an extensive Digital Out-of-Home network in more than 30 shopping centers throughout the country and aims to have one of the largest DOOH portfolios in shopping centers in the country by the end of the year.

“We are very pleased to finally be able to launch our solution in Europe after several pilot projects in the UK and Germany.. VUKUNET is one of the most interesting solutions in the DOOH market and perfectly fills the gap that exists between Digital Out-of-Home media buyers and providers.”, concludes Dirk Hülsermann, de NEC Display Solutions Europe.
