The AMETIC employers' association appoints Benigno Lacort as general director

The Multisector Association of Electronics Companies, Information and Communication Technologies, Telecommunications and Digital Content (AMETIC) has appointed Benigno Lacort as the new general director of the employers' association.

The new general director of AMETIC, Benigno Lacort, Its objective is to “connect the organization as much as possible with the needs of its associates.”, as well as obtain a complete view of the industry, of the public sector and the market to put it at the service of the hypersector and AMETIC itself”, states the employer's statement.

Senior Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Lacort has extensive experience in senior business management., with specialization in strategy, innovation and new technologies in the ICT hypersector.

This professional career has alternated between the private and public sectors., which has kept him in contact with the European Commission, the General Administration of the State and the Autonomous Administration, always with responsibilities linked to innovation and the development of the IS.

Among your responsibilities, Lacort has been a member of the Spanish delegation in the management committees of the European R&D Framework Program during his time at CDTI; strategic consultant at PwC; business development at the Boeing Aerospace Research Center in Europe, and director of technology and infrastructure at Atento.

La patronal AMETIC, presided by José Manuel Riva, currently has 5.000 associated companies, that add up as a whole 350.000 employees and whose economic activity involves around 7% of Spanish GDP.
