ESNE will teach the new university degree in Cloud Computing and Ubiquitous Computing
Within the framework of the first Meeting of Experts, ESNE has presented the new university degree in Cloud Computing and Ubiquitous Computing that will be taught in the next academic year (2013/14). The meeting was attended by representatives of the Public Administration and the technological and digital industry..
The university center specialized in Design, Innovation and Technology (MILK) has organized the First Meeting of Experts: Challenges in Cloud Computing Training, which was held within the framework of the 2nd edition of ESNE Entramados. The university degree in Cloud Computing and Ubiquitous Computing has been the main topic, as well as the opportunities and challenges that this new discipline offers in Spain.
The meeting, which has materialized in the presentation of the new career and in a work seminar, has had the support and participation of experts from the Public Administration and the technological and digital industry: the National Observatory of Telecommunications and the Information Society (ONTSI) from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Telefónica R&D, Spain Digital Foundation, Arsys, IBM, Oracle y Microsoft.
Cloud Computing and Ubiquitous Computing is the first university degree in the country focused exclusively on preparing students to lead the next technological transformation, a disruptive change in computing that offers the academic answer that will help our students to be pioneering leaders in the future of computing and secure a future in the workplace. This university training is taught in two key economic powers in the world, USA and Qatar, by Carnegie Mellon University, and the next academic year 2013/14 in the ESNE.
“By traveling to the cloud we are talking about creating more than one point or one and a half points of wealth in the GDP of the European Union, to create a new industry around the cloud that will provide jobs, according to experts, to more than two and a half million people, in the different fields that open. The most powerful economies in the union, and of the world, will align at the beginning of the change and absorb the advantages of this. Cloud computing and ubiquitous computing are two expressions of the same reality. The new generation technological change, the next paradigm in the transformation process that computing undergoes: a radical step that must be taken with knowledge and preparation. And that's what the university is for” explained Rafael Díaz., executive director of ESNE.
According to a study by the consulting firm IDC for Microsoft, will be created near 14 million jobs in the world related to cloud computing and ubiquitous computing technologies between the years 2011 y 2015.
