The artistic producer Strange Productions has made a spectacular videomapping on the façade of the Herreriano Patio – Museum of Contemporary Art of Valladolid during the XIV International Festival of Theater and Street Arts (TAC).

The multimedia show, called 'Selfish Pigs', has been co-produced by this theater and performing arts festival, which premiered in its edition 2013 as part of the North Station section.

Strange Productions, based in Valladolid, has used the same format and technique of architectural video projection in this show, which completes the trilogy started by this company with 'Do you swallow or spit?’, although with a plot concept, different messages and aesthetics.

Architecture in motion

The main and side facades of the Patio Herreriano – Museum of Contemporary Art of Valladolid have been transformed during TAC 2013 in a giant tapestry “on which animations generated in two dimensions are projected, that merge with spectacular 3D videomapping effects of enormous visual impact, in which the viewer perceives the buildings as architectures in motion”, they explain from the producer.

for this show, Xtrañas Producciones has used three of the firm's projectors Christie, of 20.000 lumens each; two of them to project in a panoramic way on the main façade of the museum.

The management of the images of this multimedia show, in which techniques such as collage are fused, illustration and photography, has been carried out with Watchout software Dataton.

Immersive audio

As far as the audio system is concerned, have been used 30.000 EAW sound watts in line array and in format 3.1, “a system that allows sounds to be played on different channels, which causes viewers to focus their attention on the most prominent visual spaces”, those responsible point out.

The show, inspired by the book of the same name by British cartoonist and screenwriter Andy Riley, resumes the humor and ironic tone of the trilogy that takes shape in the selfishness of the human being as a common thread, inviting the viewer to reflect on the existence of truly altruistic behaviors.
