Wheelies reinvents the wheel as a dynamic DooH digital advertising medium
The Thai multinational World Moto has patented Wheelies, a display technology that uses the wheels of motorcycles and cars to display static and streaming multimedia content as a new DooH advertising medium.
Wheelies technology, developed and patented by World Moto, inventor of Motor-Med or the moto-taxi so used in Bangkok (Thailand), has turned the wheel one more time, in this case as a dynamic DooH digital advertising medium to display static and moving content, of great commercial impact.
This new type of mobile digital screen allows you to view static and streaming multimedia content, creating, to date, an ingenious new medium for outdoor advertising “that turns virtually any wheel in the world into a commercial tool or billboard, bright and full color, high impact to display ads, images and videos”, asegura Chris Ziomkowski, World Moto director .
Wheelies is made up of a wheel that incorporates 53 LEDs connected to the spokes of its eight blades. Its operation is similar to that used in the movies, with a series of images that are played sequentially and in rapid succession, with the difference that in this case it has to be set in an exact position on each blade so that the LED defines the image or video quickly..
All advertising or personalized content can be sequenced to be operational at a specific time or in a specific location thanks to the incorporation of a smart sensor with voice recognition, to activate ads, images, etc. depending on the place or time of day chosen by the client.
Downloading content is based on a web tool that allows you to create image playlists, animations and video, in addition to the real-time sharing of content and the possibility of adding profiles on social networks and serving ads targeted to different demographic groups.
According to World Moto forecasts, a single motorcycle can achieve a maximum audience of 400.000 people a day, which will contribute to finding a sufficient number of buyers for this technology during this year, After the good reception during Wheelie's presentation at the digital signage contest held in Bangkok at the end of 2013.
