Epson addresses the technology-education binomial before professionals in the sector
The Iberian subsidiary of Epson has brought together more than fifty professionals from the educational sector, representatives of institutions and companies, to present its latest solutions in tactile interactive video projection and address the important technology-education binomial, at an event recently held in Madrid.
The binomial 'technology and education' has been the leitmotiv of the event organized by Epson Ibérica in Madrid, which under the motto 'The future of education at your fingertips' showed more than fifty representatives of institutions, companies and press in the educational sector the latest advances in tactile video projection, as well as new solutions to make the interactive class a reality.
Besides, during this day Dolors Reig, education specialist 2.0 and reference in the field of technology applied to education, has given a conference with the theme of the binomial 'Technology and Education'.
The flipped class
The phenomenon of the so-called 'inverted class' (flipped classroom) It seems that it is going to become a manifest and present reality in Spanish educational classrooms.. The current trend is that technology is increasingly present in the daily life of learning, allowing students to maintain greater interactivity and classes become a place to share knowledge, while the theoretical block is transferred to individualized consultations outside the classroom environment.
As Dolors Reig pointed out during her speech at this event, “we retain a 20% what we hear, and 30% from what we observe, and 50% of the combination of both actions, and 70% of what we express and a 90% of what we create ourselves”.
In this sense, Technology comes to education to help energize classes and, given the greater participation of the students, improve your own results.
In fact, It has been proven that of everything a student hears in the classroom, only retains a 30%; while the result shoots up to more than a 90% when the student participates and, therefore, interact.
Advanced equipment
Without the need for exorbitant investments, At its event, Epson proposed equipping schools with technology in order to optimize processes and generate more interactive classes that help improve results.. “The teaching methodology must adopt new approaches and integrate something absolutely present in society such as technology”, company officials stressed during the event.
In this sense, The company does not only refer to collaborative software, but also of equipment capable of automating processes, reduce costs in the center and allow the creation of interactive classrooms.

For example, Having an ultra-short distance interactive projector will allow students to participate in the class and achieve knowledge retention rates - following the argument shared by Dolors Reig- improve substantially.
As reported Digital AV Magazine, Epson took advantage of this event to present, for the first time in Spain, your interactive touch projector EB-595Wi.
This equipment allows teachers and students to have control of presentations and teaching materials and interact with them immediately, making lessons and lectures more engaging than ever.
The touch control capability of the EB-595Wi projector, as well as the possibility of interacting with two interactive pens simultaneously, opens the range of possibilities from the earliest education, from early childhood education to university.
For Vicente Mayor, business manager of Epson Ibérica, “Touch control offers teachers and students instant interactivity, using natural gestures in a simple way. Now that we are so used to controlling smartphones and tablets, We are faced with the possibility of being able to use the same gestures on interactive screens of more than 100 inches. In addition, we just need a team (the interactive touch projector), with what this represents savings for the educational center”.
The day was developed with on-site demonstrations of the company's latest systems in interactive tactile projection, plus other printing and scanning solutions, very useful for educational centers.
