The Internet of Everything is opening new business opportunities for both the public and private sectors.. “Cisco sees a business opportunity of about 14,5 billions of euros worldwide 2022. Regarding Spain, Petisco assures that “in our country we could be talking about a business opportunity for 106.000 million dollars. And proof of what the Internet of all things can offer a large city is what is being done in Barcelona and its application of the Smart City concept.”.

Organizations that take advantage of the IoE to convert data from connections into useful information will be able to reduce costs and optimize processes, as well as generate profits by offering new products and services and optimized experiences for customers.

Cisco has been evolving at the same time as the Internet has, reaching the current moment “in which we find ourselves in the so-called Internet of Everything phase (IoE) which is characterized by the billions of connections between people, processes, data and objects, capable of generating enormous opportunities for progress for companies, countries and society, continues explaining the general director of Cisco Spain.

According to IDC, this year there will be more than 17 million wearable devices on the market and close to 10.000 millions of computers connected to the Internet “which means that there are more devices than people. Besides, The forecasts indicate that in 2020 This figure will grow to 50.000. With regard to Spain, it is expected that in 2017 the average is 3,8 devices connected to the Internet per inhabitant”.
