Next June, Pilar López Álvarez will join Microsoft as president of the Spanish company, replacing María Garaña who will go on to occupy a position of responsibility in the United States.

Pilar Lopez Alvarez, President MS IberiaPilar López Álvarez will assume the presidency of Microsoft Iberian, replacing María Garaña Corces who will occupy a position, which has not yet been made public, of maximum responsibility at the company's headquarters in the United States. This change in the subsidiary will be effective on 30 June, coinciding with the close of the company's current fiscal year.

Pilar López joins Microsoft from Telephone, where he held the position of Global Simplification Director, with responsibility for transformation, globalization and simplification of the company's operations in various markets and business units. The board was incorporated into the 1999, having held various important positions in the areas of finance and strategy, in the European and Latin American company organizations.

Lopez, has been Financial Controller at Telefónica Móviles and Strategy Director at Telefónica Spain. in 2007 moved to the UK to take up the post of Chief Financial Officer of O2. She was later appointed Chief Financial Officer of Telefonica Europe. Previously Pilar López held various positions at J.P.. Morgan in Madrid, London and New York.

Maria Garaña (Microsoft)For its part, María Garaña will start a new professional stage in the corporate organization of Microsoft after occupying for the last six and a half years the presidency of Microsoft Ibérica. At this time, the company has consolidated its presence in the large companies segment, Public Administration, SMEs and the consumer market.
