Mira Festival 2015 opens the call for audiovisual artists to present their work

The call for the Open Visual Call has just been opened 2015 for audiovisual artists to present their creative projects that will be exhibited at Mira Festival 2015. The contest revolves around three categories: Facilities, Visual Art/VJ Set and Audiovisual Shows.

The fifth edition of Mira–Live Visual Arts Festival, which will be held in different locations in the city of Barcelona during the coming months of October and November, has opened the call for the Visual Open Call. Until the 6 June, visual artists, individual and collective, who want to exhibit their work within the framework of Mira Festival 2015 may submit their application.

La Visual Open Call, which in the last edition received more than 263 proposals of 37 countries, is focused on visual creation. through her, Mira promotes the meeting between artists and the public, the exhibition of avant-garde proposals and the creative dialogue between the most emerging disciplines of audiovisual creation.

Among the new features of this edition are the different spaces offered to artists to present their visual proposals. To the usual location in Fabra i Coats, the festival has added Arts Santa Mònica and the Razzmatazz hall.

Artists and groups that participate in the call will be able to choose between one or more spaces. The selected works will be exhibited during the Mira celebration 2015.

Artistic categories

The Visual Open Call 2015 establishes 3 artistic categories: Facilities, Visual Art/VJ Set and Audiovisual Shows (AV Shows).

The Installations section includes those works that can be exhibited occupying one of the festival spaces equipped with the necessary technological support so that the viewer can contemplate or interact with them.. In Visual Art/VJ Set, shows may be presented in VJing format or club visuals focused on collaborating with the musicians who are part of the festival poster.. Y, finally, AV Shows may present proposals with multidisciplinary scenic and artistic elements that use visual arts and technology as a common thread..
