British mixing systems firms Soundcraft and microphone Shure, both with distribution in Spain and Portugal through Earpro, have announced their joint collaboration so that the Vi series digital consoles of the first incorporate the monitoring and control of the wireless microphones of the second.

This proposal, performed during ProLight+Sound 2015, recently held in the German town of Frankfurt, materialized at this event with an initial implementation in which the new Soundcraft Vi5000 and Vi7000 consoles showed their compatibility in monitoring and control with Shure's ULX-D and QLX-D digital wireless microphone systems.

Sandy LaMantia, CEO and president of Shure, has expressed its satisfaction with the collaboration with Soundcraft “to allow remote monitoring and control of our networked wireless systems. Offering essential wireless functions in the mixing console itself allows users to feel more confident in their work and offers added value to both systems, providing a more integrated experience”.

In the same line, Dave Mc Kinney, CEO and Vice President of Soundcraft and Studer, emphasizes that “Vi series consoles are designed to offer the features and technology that our customers demand, So collaborating with Shure to offer wireless data automatically was an easy decision, as it creates a more dynamic workflow for our users, something we always strive to achieve.”.

Shure ULX-D and QLX-D use Ethernet connectivity to deliver system data to Soundcraft Vi Series digital consoles. ULX-D dual and quad systems also offer digital audio networking via Dante. In conjunction with Vi5000 and Vi7000 consoles, Vi1 and Vi3000 models will also be compatible with Shure wireless systems through a software update.
