Ikimilikiliklik: audiovisual creation that immerses the viewer in the sensory world of JA Artze
Until the 14 February 2016, The audiovisual installation 'Ikimilikiliklik' is being exhibited at the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián, a work conceived so that the viewer can discover the poetic and sound universe of JA Artze as a sensory experience realized through immersion in his world of images, music and sounds.
'Ikimilikiliklik, JA Artze’s universe is an audiovisual installation that during 30 minutes runs through the poetic work, graphic and musical by JA Artze, one of the most unique Basque artists of the 20th century.
Well known for being the author of the best-known lyrics of the singer-songwriter Mikel Laboa., JA Artze was a pioneer, a reference in the modernization and universality of Basque culture. In the years 70 He was the ideologist of the Ez dok amairu group, with Jorge Oteiza, Xavier Lete, Benito Lertxundi and Lourdes Iriondo. Since then, his works on textual poetry, spatial or phonetic, and his interest in the incorporation of new technologies for the creation of multimedia shows, He is related to references such as John Cage or Laurie Anderson.
Ikimilikiliklik is an audiovisual installation designed so that the viewer can learn about the work of this author through immersion in his world of images., music and sounds.
It takes its name from the show 'Ikimilikiliklik bidekidekaria', an artistic experience carried out by JA Artze, Mikel Laboa and Jexux Artze in the years 70. This multimedia event, composed of music, poetry and image, It caused a cultural commotion at the time and could be seen in the Basque Country, Madrid, Paris and the Venice Biennale.
'Ikimilikiliklik, The universe of JA Artze' shows a journey through the work of J.A.. Artze through an audiovisual installation based on audio recordings, the author's stage shows and poems. This exhibition organized by San Telmo Museum and the Mikel Laboa Chair of the EHU/UPV (University of the Basque Country), It has been directed by Alberto Lizarralde and Carlos Rodríguez, and produced by Morgancrea.
For its staging, they have been used 8 Synchronized video projectors that cast images onto screens, walls or on the audience. The objective is to make known the artistic universe of JA Artze not in a documentary way but through sensory immersion in the artist's work..
A work that can be seen until 14 February 2016 at the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián and, later, between the 3 of March and 2 April, in the Biarritz Media Library.
