The EMT of Malaga monitors the fleet in real time from a Userful video wall
With this solution, in 3 format×3, The EMT has modernized its control center with a display system that allows a large number of cameras to be displayed simultaneously, as well as desktop content and real-time online notifications.
With a population of almost 570.000 inhabitants, Malaga has a public transport network made up of 242 vehicles, distributed in 47 lines. This fleet is controlled from the control center of the Malagueña Transport Company (EMT), entity in charge of these services for more than 30 years.
In order to monitor this fleet, The center has four inspectors who use the city network made up of 80 cameras, as well as some of our own that are installed in strategic places and inside the vehicles.
Given the complexity of the network and the size of the fleet, the EMT needs to monitor the vehicles in real time and, for it, I needed to be able to quickly switch to any camera on the network. It also required an alarm system that ensures that the camera of a specific vehicle is visible on the control center screens once activated by its driver..
To respond to these requirements, EMT needed a display solution that was flexible, allowing them to display content from multiple sources and quickly change. Besides, it had to be easy to use, so that inspectors could quickly learn to operate and manage. Besides, It had to be a low cost solution.
The solution was the installation of a video wall Userful that connects to the network through a zero client device. “The support of interactive content in real time and seeing how easy it was to manage, as well as the possibility of changing content and camera with complete ease, “It was what convinced us that Userful was the solution we were looking for.”, explains José Manuel Fernández, EMT Systems Engineer.
Userful meets the requirements of the EMT, since it can handle virtually an unlimited number of inputs and adjust the number of outputs to use. This is a feature that differentiates the company's video wall technology, as well as the use of the Ethernet network to transmit content from the PC to the display equipment.
Con Userful, A single PC can support video walls of up to 60 screens and each of them host a zero client device in the back that connects to the computer over the network.
Userful software turns the PC into a comprehensive video wall system that is managed through the web control interface. The solution can display any type of content, from video and full screen web browsers, even virtual desktops (multiple simultaneous desktop sessions from a single PC).
Videowall de 3×3
The EMT deployed, via TSL system integrator, a video wall of 3×3, with nine LG screens 55 inches, from a single PC, equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor and 32 GB of RAM, which is located in a server room with a controlled environment. An HDMI capture card was also incorporated to acquire external content and display it on the video wall in real time..
With this solution, The EMT has managed to modernize the control center with a display system that allows a large number of cameras to be displayed simultaneously, as well as desktop content and real-time online notifications.
Besides, allows the system to be expanded as the fleet increases. When they need to add more screens, they just have to add more zero client devices to the network, and the PC will support the expansion.
