Christie Boxer helps make a spectacular HD projection of 55 meters for Co-op assembly
Eight projectors were used to carry out the installation., arranged in four columns of two to cover the curved screen with 240.000 lumens.
Un display, of 55 meters wide and 8 high made with Boxer 4K30 projectors from Christie, was the visual piece that starred at the Co-op annual general meeting in Manchester and in which a succession of HD images and video were shown. The display, curved, was designed and installed by AtoV, integration company specialized in events in director.
This year's call for this annual general meeting, which was held at the Central Station conference center (MCR Central), It had a special character because it was the occasion chosen to launch the brand's new identity, which includes the update of its logo as part of a new campaign presided over by the slogan 'Back to being Co-op'.
The event, held at the Central Station conference center (MCR Central) the Manchester, meeting a 700 members from the various business areas of the organization.
AtoV has a long relationship with Co-op, y Jim Hadfield, one of the company's engineers, takes already 18 years involved in these Co-op meetings. “Con 700 attendees and the relaunch of the brand, the call for 2016 was of special importance. Y, for this occasion, “We had to create a high-impact event that required spectacular visuals”, explica Hadfield.
MCR Central is a gigantic space, so it was decided to carry out a projection installation, “because it is the only technology capable of creating a display appropriate to the dimensions of the place. To this we had to add that we only had 24 hours to get the installation up and running. These difficulties led us to use Christie Boxer equipment because of its lightness., high performance in the precise points and reliability”.
The MCR Central is a former railway station with an arched roof of 27 meters at its highest point and a width of 60 metros. The area used by Co-op also has a length of 60 metros. AtoV had only 24 hours to carry out the installation, including the necessary blending and warping in a projection zone of 55 by 8 metros.
To this we must add that the length of throw of 55 meters imposed minimal or no thermal drift and very precise lens mounting. Boxer was presented as the ideal solution, and thanks to its aspect ratio of 18:1, AtoV only needs eight teams arranged in four columns of two to cover the screen with 240.000 lumens. If the company had opted for an alternative solution, six columns of projectors would have been needed, And that's not to mention the weight gain., power, signal distribution time and labor that would have been required to install, align and flatten images.
