Esports Arena tournaments in Las Vegas ring with Lawo

The new space created by Allied Esports has a sound system made up of two Lawo mc²36 consoles. One handles FOH sound and the other is used to mix audio in the broadcast control room.

Allied Esports International opened a new location this year, located at the Luxor Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, dedicated to the world of esports. He Sports Arena Since its opening it has become the place chosen to host all types of tournaments, from daily games to high level competitions.

“Our mission was to build a 'turnkey' infrastructure that would serve to hold different live events., as well as produce content with a style and quality that meets or exceeds current broadcast standards”, comenta Drew Ohlmeyer, Head of Content for Allied Esports International and Esports Arena Las Vegas. To repurpose a former nightclub space, Allied hired CBT Systems to build an AV system designed for highly available video transmissions.

Darrel Wenhardt, President and CEO of CBT Systems, found that the existing audio system was insufficient for the requirements of esports events. The renovation was carried out with a console Theirs mc²36 for front-of-house duties and a second mc²36 to power the transmission control room.

“Lawo was the obvious choice and provided exactly what was needed, while also being able to offer custom workflows for the unique aspects of esports events.”, Clara Wenhardt.

When Allied Esports International began planning the location of this new headquarters, I was looking for a place to hold esports events, live performances and broadcasts and featuring audience seating with multiple cameras, concert video screens and a premium FOH system. In addition, I wanted events to be broadcast in real time to subscribers around the world.

To achieve these objectives, The copper network was replaced with fiber, achieving great bandwidth and connectivity.. Besides, A completely new audio system was installed with twin consoles of 24 faders Lawo mc²36; one for FOH sound and another to mix the finished audio for live broadcasts.

These consoles are networked via Ravenna AoIP using a Lawo Nova router 37, including four stage boxes (stage boxes) Compact Lawo, each one with 32 Mic/Line I/O, 8 AES I/O, 8 GPIO and a MADI port. Lawo A_mic8 units provide AES67 AoIP connections for multiple microphones.
