The installation at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium offers two innovative and immersive experiences, that combine and integrate advanced technologies with multi-touch screens, videowall y mapping.

Ideum en Journey Through the Human Brain

In March 2019, Journey Through the Human Brain, a multifaceted installation designed to put the wonders and mysteries of the brain within visitors' reach, opened at the South Florida Aquarium and Science Center (South Florida Science Center and Aquarium), located in West Palm Beach – Florida.

The same thing has designed, developed and installed two of the most immersive and sophisticated experiences that can be seen in this exhibition.

One of these is Deep Dive Into the Brain, an experience that takes visitors on a journey inside the human brain. Reminiscent of the classic film 1960 Fantastic Voyage, starts outside the brain and moves into increasingly intricate structures, ending at the microscopic level of neurotransmitters, the chemical complexes that form the basis of neuronal communication.

The journey takes place on a four-meter curved screen, which is located at one end of the exhibition and has a projector Barco 4Bright, high-resolution UHD K to display dynamic 3D images of the brain (lobes and fissures, structures, internal systems and neurons). Attendees control their ride through a custom console containing an Ideum Inline screen of 43 inches and a joystick with LEDs embedded in an adjacent glass panel.

At every stop inside the brain, Visitors can use the joystick to select structures and learn more about them on the console screen. The size and details of the exhibition make it possible for large groups to view the projected images together, and the integrated high-fidelity audio system takes users from the gallery to the interior space.

The projected 3D images were created by the company Intervoke, a Colorado firm dedicated to working with medical professionals to produce the highest quality anatomical images available.

Ideum has built the control application, integrated it with the large-scale audio and projection system and designed the custom console.

El Brain Development Wall (Brain Development Wall) It is the other experience in which Ideum has participated and which is at the other end of the exhibition. Like Deep Dive, This has been designed to be used by multiple simultaneous users. This multi-touch video wall highlights how the brain grows and changes throughout life, from its beginnings as a simple group of cells, going through childhood and adolescence, until reaching its maturation as one ages.

At every stage of life, Attendees can select from a wide range of floating content windows to view images and videos illustrating key development processes and visualization techniques. They can also open a separate window across the full width of the connected screens to see a detailed image of the brain as it grows..

The exhibition consists of six screens LG of 55 inches, which are mounted side by side in vertical orientation, creating a four-meter 8K video wall.

An infrared bezel system enclosing the display matrix makes the entire monitor set touch-sensitive.

After several months of conceptual design, content research, prototyping and programming, and tests, a team of Ideum technicians installed and tested both exhibits at the Science Center (Science Center).

Two innovative immersive experiences that combine and integrate advanced technologies with multi-touch screens, videowall y mapping.
