Design to Production has used touch technology Zytronic to develop the kiosk called The Blade. A display stand that is currently being tested in showrooms at Volkswagen in Australia. For its configuration, an interactive screen has been used. 55 inch double sided.

It is based on Zytronic Zybrid touch sensors along with their latest ZXY500 multi-touch controllers that, when mounted on either side of the Blade display, they add 12 mm to the slim profile of the unit, which makes the entire kiosk a thickness of 40 mm.

The critical factor is the selection of the ZXY500 capacitive controller designed by Zytronic. With its patented ASIC, along with the touch detection algorithms developed by the company, Touch sensors can be mounted almost directly in contact with the screen surface, allowing for a super slim design.

blankThe use of Zytronic touch technology was part of the Blade's design specifications from the first design phase: “To make the Blade interactive, was key. Users can't believe The Blade is touch-enabled on both sides, how we added touch and kept such a slim profile. It is a testament to the projected capacitive technology that Zytronic produces.”, confirms Peter Gordon, director de Design to Production.

According to Gordon,, The Blade has caught the attention of the automotive industry in Australia. With some 20 units participating in a pilot test in Volkswagen garages across the country. Supplied with low profile wheels allowing the unit to be easily moved to a vehicle showroom. All you need is power.

The Blade has been built to the highest standards, a Sydney, by the Design to Production manufacturing team. “We use state-of-the-art equipment and only the best manufacturing techniques. There are other double-sided signage and kiosk products on the market, but not many are touch enabled. Those who are, use inferior touch technology, and they are noticeably thicker”.

When enabled to touch, The content displayed invites users to interact with the screen and request more information. A selection of brochures are available and the customer can receive the desired material by email. In addition, the sales team is also alerted for follow-up, informing Volkswagen about the vehicle in which the user is interested, as well as his name, along with age and gender data derived from the real-time attention analytics solution Quividi that has been incorporated.

The Blade incorporates a double-sided HD screen of 55 inches. It also includes a low-profile baseplate making it ideal for showrooms and trade shows where it is not practical to have the unit permanently installed.. The elegant design, Rugged construction and customizable options allow it to be tailored to specific needs to complement retail applications, the hospitality industry, education and office environments.
