Sheikh Zayed Mosque lights up with Martin's equipment

To overcome the challenge of equipping the curved surfaces of the dome of this spectacular building located in Abu Dhabi, have been installed 2.556 PixLine outdoor luminaires 10.

Martin Professional Middle East (MPME) has equipped the Sheikh Zayed Mosque with a state-of-the-art outdoor lighting solution from Martin by Harman.

Located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (EAU) in Abu Dhabi, This mosque features a spectacular structure with a main dome of 79,8 meters and four towers of minarets that rise to a height of almost 107 metre.

As the largest mosque in the UAE and the third largest in the world, This building of 21.945 square meters has capacity for 40.000 Visitors.

It recently opened a three-story visitor center with two glass entrances. Abu Dhabi officials contracted with MPME to install an outdoor lighting solution that would visually emphasize the visitor center and glass domes. To overcome the challenge of equipping the curved surfaces of the dome, have been installed 2.556 Martin Professional Outdoor PixLine luminaires 10.

“Installing a large number of fixtures on a curved surface is a complex process. We selected the Exterior PixLine accessories because Martin could supply them in custom lengths, which reduced installation time and cost, And it also allowed us to integrate the accessories into the structure of the domes”, comments Bilal Assidi, MPME Sales Manager.

PixLine Outdoor 10 is a linear LED video device for multimedia facades and creative installations, which can be fully customized in terms of length and color to match any specification, while the power supply is hidden. As well as illuminating the translucent domes at night, MPME also uses the creative façade of LED media to show videos and support religious festivals, Cultural Events & Special Occasions.

On the other hand, four Martin P3 controllers are used to synchronize Exterior PixLine accessories 10, installed in glass domes, with the largest outdoor installation in 360 Degrees Lighting Mosque, illuminated by Martin's equipment from 2009.

Martin has been the official partner of this mosque for a decade, while MPME is responsible for ensuring that each lighting installation is working properly at all times. The P3 System also makes it possible to remotely monitor the new façade and respond quickly in case of errors or failures.
