The University of Texas shows what it means to be a Longhorn on an LED video wall
In the Hall of Fame he has installed a 4.8 FlexUltra system×2,7 meters that is linked to the lighting control system of the space and in which an interactive experience is offered.
To highlight the achievements of their 20 athletics teams (Texas Longhorns), the University of Texas has worked with the company Advent to create an interactive experience in the Hall of Fame (Frank Denius Family University of Texas Athletics) which was inaugurated a few months ago. The design includes a large format Led video wall screen PixelFlex FlexUltra.
“The University needed a place where they could experience what it really means to be a Longhorn.”, comments John Downie, Vice President of Experience Advent.
By delving into the design aspects desired by the University, Downie and the Advent team wanted to highlight the achievements of the athletics programs. With numerous national championships in multiple sports, The University has a lot to celebrate and Downie wanted to give them the proper attention.
Turning your attention to the video installation, the design team wanted to make sure all the visual elements worked together in unison. As an interactive visitor experience, It was also essential to have a technical design that could tell the story of the athletics programs.
“It is an interesting space where one wall contains a significant number of National Championship trophies with a kinetic lighting system. The installation is unique since the interactive systems that control the 4.8 LED video wall×2,7 meters are also linked to the lighting control system of the multimodal space”.
A dynamic, high-definition Led screen, FlexUltra offers unlimited opportunities to experience HD quality video with the creative freedom to define any space.
With Cob PixelShield technology, scratch and impact resistant, FLEXUltra is designed in a ratio of 16:9 and has a horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 160°. With fully serviceable panels for quick and easy installation and maintenance, operates at a 3840Hz refresh rate to eliminate scan lines and flickering. A device that is available with a pixel pitch of 0,9, 1,2, 1,6 y 1,9 mm.
With two weeks to install and commission the video wall, The Advent team also provided the full motion HD video content. By knowing the power that comes from using an eye-catching visual experience, Downie is excited about the creative design possibilities ahead.
“Simplicity of installation and back-end infrastructure, as well as lower cooling and power requirements, They provide us with a great opportunity to advocate for high definition LED video screens where it simply would not have been possible before.”, Downie concluded..
