Samsung QLED 8K

Samsung Electronics has signed an agreement with 8K Association (8KA) to launch the first global certification program for 8K TVs. This agreement is a milestone for its QLED 8K TVs, since they will be among the first certified by this organization.

"We are proud to be a founding member of the 8K Association and equip our new range of QLED 8K TVs with the technology needed to receive this certification.", comments Hyogun Lee, executive vice president of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

8KA Certification Program seeks to differentiate TVs with four times more pixels than the 4K TV standard, more clearly, contrast, Color and higher dynamic range performance (Hdr).

They are requirements of this certification that televisions have a resolution of 7,680×4.320, brightness greater than 600 Nits, HDMI 2.1, as well as high-efficiency video coding (HVEC).

The 8KA association is increasing efforts to launch educational programs that promote participation, innovation and content development within the 8K ecosystem, among its partners.

In addition to expanding through different industries, 8KA will create promotional activities for this industry, through demonstrations that expose the latest technology in these equipment, New productions, Delivery options and viewing devices.
