Walt Disney World Resort's Latest Attraction Comes to Life with Panasonic 4K Projection

Manufacturer's 4K laser equipment accurately reconstructs the specific color range of Mickey Mouse cartoons, and allow visitors to immerse themselves in a world where the physical and visual environment merge.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the newest attraction in Walt Disney World Resort, has come to life with 4K projection technology from Panasonic.

Based on the Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts , This is an exclusive attraction at Walt Disney World Resort and Disney's Hollywood Studios., and the first ride starring Mickey Mouse and his friends.

“Our 4K laser projectors not only accurately reconstruct the specific color range of actual Mickey Mouse cartoons., but also allow visitors to immerse themselves in a world where the physical and visual environment combine perfectly. This required flexible projection technology, reliable and customizable to meet the complexity of the attraction configuration”, comenta John Baisley, senior vice president of Professional Imaging and Visual Systems Panasonic Systems Solutions Company of North America.

This experience takes guests on a journey into the crazy, unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon where they will actually step past the movie screen and climb aboard a train hurtling through the Wild West., They visit a carnival and even dive into a waterfall.

Everything in Mickey and Minnie's world looks like, the color and texture of the famous cartoons, combining physical sets with projected images and creating a fully immersive experience for guests of all ages to enjoy.

“Since it is the first attraction to feature Mickey Mouse and other iconic Disney characters, this ride required technology that could recreate colors, scenes and characters that we all know. Visitors will feel like they have left the 'real world' behind’ when they enter our attraction, and with Panasonic 4K projection technology, we can make the cartoon world a reality”, aclara Tom LaDuke, Principal Show Systems Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is the latest project in which Panasonic has collaborated with Disney Parks, but other projects in which he has participated are also worth highlighting, such as the attraction that takes visitors to a very, very far away in star wars: Galaxy’s Edge, or immerse them in an underwater adventure at Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland Resort.
