Castanea Forum installs an AV network based on the Q-SYS ecosystem

The end-to-end infrastructure is designed around the Core 510i processor and integrates, among other elements, Q-SYS touch screens and QSC CXD-Q network amplifiers.

Located in Lüneburg (Germany) Castanea Forum It is a conference center that is part of the facilities of the Castanea Best Western Resort. Inaugurated in 2019, It has eight multifunctional rooms, available for corporate and private events.

The center was looking to implement an audio solution, video and control (OF&C) end-to-end offering a flexible and intuitive means to set up and control meetings and events, and the Q-SYS ecosystem of LLC provided the ideal solution.

Working together with QSC, the Hamburg-based systems integrator PM White designed the system around an integrated Q-SYS Core 510i processor, that manages AV processing throughout the venue. With Q-SYS there is no need for complicated and independent control processing hardware, and PM White took full advantage of the control engine and all its functions to create user control interfaces (UCI) for the hall and the eight rooms, via the Q-SYS touch screen network.

Using the Q-SYS Scripting Engine, the integrator created scripts Lua Customized to add control capabilities for third-party devices, including projectors and KNX building automation systems (lighting/HVAC) in each of the rooms.

Next, Various audio presets designed, video and lighting, which can be selected from the touch screen, depending on room configuration. These presets allow you to define which microphones and speakers are active, what lights are on and what projectors and screens are in use. Once a preset is selected, Users have additional access to room/microphone audio levels, background music controls and video source selection, along with lighting and HVAC controls.

Q-SYS UCI Editor allowed PM White to create an intuitive interface for the lobby and each of the eight rooms.
