Steinerlive invests in Elation Led technology for the production of its events

This Austrian company has replaced its tungsten lamps with KL Fresnel Led luminaires, much more energy efficient in multiple applications.

The advantages of LED as a substitute for tungsten are many.: higher efficiency with less energy consumption, low maintenance, less heat and more flexibility, reasons why the Austrian event production specialist Steinerlive has invested in the acquisition of LED technology Elation.

Specifically, this company based in Vienna and more than 35 years of activity in the multidisciplinary events industry, has replaced its tungsten fixtures with KL Fresnel Led wash luminaires from Elation, offering bright, high-quality white light, with an output as beautiful as that of this traditional halogen.

The KL Fresnel series is a line of warm white or cool white Led Fresnel lights., available in 50W models, 150W y 350W, of which Steinerlive has chosen the KL Fresnel model 6 de 150W CW, cold white with a 5,600K cold white LED engine and a CRI of 97.

Bernhard Höfert, Head of Steinerlive, explains that “KL Fresnel 6 CW will replace our stock of tungsten lamps to reduce electrical load, simplify installation, since they do not need dimming racks and, therefore, complicated wiring, in addition to speeding up the installation through the use of hybrid DMX+ charging cables”.

This event company has opted for the cold white version, since it is the one that best adapts to your cameras and streaming equipment, but also because customers usually prefer the cooler color temperature, according to Höfert.

“The light output and uniformity of KL Fresnel is better in direct shooting compared to competing devices. In addition, the body and frame left the best impression in terms of reliability and durability, and the color rendering index was slightly better”, points out Höfert.

Elation KL Fresnel also includes zoom and manual regulation, as well as DMX control, to which is added an adjustable refresh rate, a silent and flicker-free mode of operation, making it an ideal on-camera wash light.

The head of Steinerlive has indicated that they will use these new luminaires in meeting and break rooms during large congresses., in virtual/hybrid event scenarios, press conferences and exhibition lighting. Lately, the company has been using the lamps in its internal studio for recordings, virtual broadcasts and productions, all of them increasingly relevant in the current crisis.
