WiZink Center Madrid completes the renovation of the audio system with Electro-Voice and Dynacord
With turnkey solutions in six different areas, The Madrid venue has updated its fixed audio and microphone installation with Electro-Voice and Dynacord systems, according to the project of Acson and its integrator Assembly AV.

With a capacity of 17.400 personas, the venue closed the year 2019 with event holding record, consolidating for the sixth consecutive year as the space with the highest number of them organized in Spain.
With the aim of continuing to be a reference, Promote Events and Installations, venue management company, began a renovation process that has included updating the fixed installation sound system in the different spaces.
After analyzing different market proposals, The option chosen for the audio system was the one that offered Electro-Voice y Dynacord, by the hand of Axon and its Assembly AV integrator.
During the last two years, These companies have worked collaboratively to create solutions dedicated to six different areas, including VIP rooms, a press room, meeting rooms and the main arena itself.

The renovation project began in 2018 and now, in the present 2020, has completed its last stage. In total, the new systems have been installed in six areas and accesses to the main arena, that have been prepared to host events of any format.
Sala Truss
Inspired by New York style, This annex room is ideal for celebrating exclusive events. It has an interior area in which four Dynacord TS-400 units have been installed, powered by Dynacord type C power amplifiers 3600.
Besides, if the Evolve units are installed 50 as sound reinforcement in different room configurations.
Truss Open Space
This gallery, located on an upper level of the Truss Room, It is made up of an open space that allows the capacity of the Truss room to be expanded if necessary..
Six Electro-Voice Evid P6.2 units have been installed in this space, eight Evid 8.2S and two Evid -S 10.1, with Dynacord C-series amplifiers.
Premium SEAT
It is a privileged place to access concerts and private events. To equip this space, ten Evid units were chosen. 4.2 and two Evid-S 10.1, with Dynacord CPS amplification and a DSP controller 260.
Press Room
Used both before and after sporting events and at large concerts., it is a room 202 m2 with complex acoustics.
To solve this problem, The space was provided with sound with six Electro-Voice EVU units 1062 whites and a Dynacord CMS mixer 1000.
Four PolarChoice Desktop-18 microphones and two RE-300 HD wireless units were chosen as the microphone system., all amplified and controlled with Dynacord CPS and DSP units 260.
MegaBarra
It is a space especially suitable for celebrating medium format events., for what is counted 600 m2, which are divided into three nuclei with a large bar that runs along the entire side of the space.
It has a complement of eight Evid-S units 8.2 and four Evid -S 10.1 and Dynacord C-series amplifiers.
Arena Pavilion
Located on the elevation +45 from the arena are the boxes or VIP areas, who have a spectacular view of the playing court and, in the case of shows and concerts, the one on stage.
The objective of the sound system design for this area was to offer a very high quality sound response, with small size speakers. Sixteen Dynacord VL262 units installed, with eight SUB 112 and amplifiers of the same brand from the C series.
All areas are prepared for a local disconnection for private events, as well as to receive audio through the Dante network that is being deployed in the stadium.
Space Arena and main ring reinforcement
In the sound system of the Arena space, several levels of complexity had to be analyzed. The first was that no element could be hung from the ceiling, since all the points of the structure were used for the different types of events that are held.

To do this, several electroacoustic simulations were carried out with the current screen system and with the shapes and size of the new system..
In the first phase, the line of speakers that provides sound on the first level of stands was replaced (the closest to the track) using eight units of EVH 1152D/64, in horizontal arrangements of two units amplified by eight IPX channels 5:4.
After installation, Intelligibility and frequency response measurements were also made. Finally, amplification could be integrated into the same structure of the screens., reducing cable length between amplifier and speaker.
Besides, Through Dynacord's Sonicue and Iris-Net software you can currently control and monitor the system, thus reducing times in weekly preventive maintenance.
Once the Led screens have been replaced, The audio installation has been completed with eighteen Electro-Voice EVH 1152D units on the video scoreboard to cover all three levels of stands at the WiZink Center.
Ten units of the EVF-1152D model have been installed in the shadow areas of the third level to increase intelligibility and improve the sound quality of the space.. This entire system has been amplified with twenty-eight IPX channels 5:4 with redundant OCA network through two fiber optic rings.
