Electro-Voice MTS Series

Designed for installation in stadiums and sports venues, the MTS series of Electro-Voice consists of sixteen models, each equipped with four speakers with 15 cone″.

Sixteen models make up the new MTS Series of high-performance point source speakers and full range of Electro-Voice, each equipped with four woofers out of 15″ and dual coaxial compression controllers, medium/high frequency, to generate more than 151 peak dB of sound pressure.

All Four Low Frequency Controllers, slot loaded, are symmetrically coupled to the same full-range waveguide as compression waveguids to create a single point source, with a substantial bass response, aimed at eliminating the need for additional subwoofers in many applications.

This series includes sixteen models that are based on two standard three-way configurations. (MTS-4153), with coverage of 60×40 degrees or 40 X 30 Degrees, as well as two cardioid configurations (MTS-6154) providing the same coverage patterns with improved low-frequency directional control.

60 models×40 grades offer a peak SPL of 151 Db (music) and a peak of 154 Db (word-voice) until 55 Hz to -10 Db; while those of 40×30 degrees are able to reach a maximum SPL of 152 Db (music) and a maximum SPL of 155 Db (word) until 50 Hz to -10 Db.

Design and technology

Each version is available with black or white finish, and in a partially heated version (PW) for protected use or in a fully heated (FW) for full exposure to the elements. All systems have a IP55 rating, impervious to the ings of dust and water.

The speakers were designed using high-performance computing clusters (HPC), running proprietary modeling software, designed by electric vehicle engineers.

The engineering team repeated hundreds of FEA simulations for optimized system performance, whose result was new technologies, as the lossless dual waveform converter Hydra, that drives a waveguide of constant directivity with a coherent arc source, which according to the company helps to ensure the control of the pattern below 350 hz.

The MTS series is designed to be used with amplification and processing of Dynacord, as part of a hardware and software ecosystem powered by Sonicue, contributing to a more energy-efficient system design, with performance optimization and system protection features.

Proprietary speaker settings and limiter functions are meant to ensure optimal performance, with long-term reliability at very high output levels, as explained from Electro Voice.

In addition, the company provides a package of design files for advanced simulation of acoustic and mechanical systems. The software EV Preview Loudspeaker deElectro-Voice facilitates faster and more accurate creation of acoustic designs with MTS, including those that complement the series, as the dual subwoofer of 18″ recommended Dual X12i-128.
