Ditec Communications transforms the classrooms of the Pompeu Fabra University into a hybrid space
The company's project department has designed a technological solution based on the requirements for a hybrid classroom: collaboration and two-way communication between different spaces.
The Pompeu Fabra University – Barcelona School of Management has adapted its teaching facilities to the current needs of teaching a hybrid mode from its classrooms, in person and virtual, to his students. The technological solution has been carried out by the company's project department Ditec Communications.
In this transformation project the audio system is configured with a Dante network, with array microphones Shure, models MXA710 and MXA910, and with MXN5C speakers from the same manufacturer.
The entire system is managed by an audio processor with USB output, modelo Shure P300, and with a LAN switch Netgear with PoE power. The microphone system, integrated into the classroom ceiling, offers perfect and intelligible voice pickup, both the teacher and the students, and offers complete freedom of movement. The audio received from remote students is broadcast through the speakers.
The video system has LED monitors with 4K resolution, in sizes 55 y 65 inches, from the company Samsung, in which the students connected remotely are displayed, while the existing projectors already in the classroom show the content that the teacher creates. The management of the different video sources is done through a 4×4 HDMI matrix.
To capture the image, a fundamental element in the transformation of classrooms to hybrid in-person and virtual mode, Three types of USB cameras from the manufacturer have been integrated AVer, to adapt them to the needs of each class.
For those classrooms that require constant monitoring, the AVer PTC500S model has been chosen., a 30x robotic FHD camera with auto tracking and PTZ movement.
In the case of classrooms that need camera movement, but in which automatic monitoring by the teacher is not necessary, The option has been the CAM520 PoE camera from said manufacturer, also with FHD resolution and 18x robotic, with PoE power and PTZ movement. The AVer CAM340+ camera has been installed in the smallest classrooms, with 4K resolution.
Fulfilling a requirement established by the academic institution, The first two cameras can be managed remotely via IP and are integrated into the university's internal IT network to manage both the internal configuration of the cameras, how to view the live image and manipulate PTZ movement.
The entire installed audiovisual solution is designed to integrate with the room PC and carry out videoconferences through any platform, using and taking advantage of all classroom resources.
Besides, Ditec Comunicaciones has also announced that it has signed an agreement with Zoom for the marketing and service of its solutions.
