Genelec Smart IP supports the sustainable nature of the Naturkraft center in Denmark with sound

This space of experiences to promote a more sustainable world offers its visitors different digital exhibitions, which are accompanied by powerful audio effects.

Force of nature is a new experience center in the Danish city of Ringkøbing, West Jutland, which aims to raise awareness about the nature that shapes the world as a way to encourage more sustainable behavior.

Visitors have a wide variety of activities and learning experiences: Outside there are eight different types of natural environments, while its interior, in an iconic building 5.500 m2 designed to integrate into the coastal landscape, you can enjoy different exhibitions.

As creators of this digital experience, No Parking has carried out the design and development of the main facilities within the space called Exploratory, including IT and AV equipment. The Smart IP sound system Genelec has been chosen for this project.

“Our expertise is AV production and integration with a focus on experience design”, explains the director of No Parking, Morten Ranmar. “We were chosen for this task due to the complexity and scale of the project, which required a lot of planning to ensure the best visitor experience. From an audio perspective, We used Genelec's Smart IP solution for two of their facilities because it was absolutely perfect for our needs, in addition to having great support if necessary”.

Exhibitions in the main building are dedicated to the forces of nature as they exist in the local West Jutland environment. Naturally, The sea plays a very important role in the lives of the inhabitants of this city., so one of the main installations is the majestic recreation of a North Sea wave.

Visitors can walk to the first floor through this unique wave accompanied by powerful audio effects, activated by motion sensors and delivered by eight speakers 4430 Smart IP with RAW finish from Genelec, whose products it sells Audio-Technica Iberia.

“The goal was to create the feeling of what it would be like to be in the middle of the wave, through sound, lighting, video projection and architecture - describes Ranmar -. No external amplifiers to worry about, and the facility is incredibly clean and tidy”.

Another advantage of Smart IP that this expert highlights is that “we can take audio from various sources if necessary. Here we have a basic ambient mix on eight channels, more sound effects, and Dante networking means we can redirect the signal as needed or change the source when installation changes, making it an extremely flexible solution that can adapt as exhibits change and evolve.”.

The RAW finish “was the icing on the cake, as it perfectly complemented the architecture of the Wave installation and, of course, obtained a very high score on the sustainability scale. This is an extremely important factor for Naturkraft, where sustainability, Climate and nature are key factors that drove its creation. Even Genelec's non-RAW finished products are made from recycled aluminum according to sustainable processes, so they would have also been a perfect choice”.
