Mediapro installs the AV equipment for the new Ophthalmology surgical block at the Hospital Clínic

The four new operating rooms have been equipped with 4K screens, PTZ cameras, wireless microphone, multivision systems and management of internal operating room and external connections by streaming or videoconference.

He Mediapro Group, through Unitecnic, has been the company responsible for carrying out the audiovisual installation project for the new Ophthalmology surgical block of the Clinical Hospital of Barcelona, a pioneering facility for its space design and technology.

This new surgical area is located in the Maternitat facility in the Les Corts district of Barcelona., Its inauguration took place last 10 December and is the first phase of the creation of the Clínic Eye Training Center (CETC).

The project has consisted of the installation of the audiovisual system of the four new operating rooms in which approximately 30 daily interventions. They have been equipped with 4K screens, PTZ cameras, wireless microphone, multivision systems and management of internal operating room or external connections by streaming or videoconference (Zoom, Team, Webex, etc.). An IP transmission system has also been used that offers the highest video quality.

Unitecnic has integrated all audiovisual elements with an automated control system, operated from the nursing computer itself, that facilitates the entire management of the system in a simple way for professionals in the field of medicine without the need to have technical knowledge.

The audiovisual system of the surgical block has been integrated with the Videoma recording system, existing in the central headquarters of the Clínic on Villarroel street installed by the Mediapro Group years ago.

The integration between the two centers allows three audio and video intakes, as well as the ingestion of direct metadata of the file from the nursing computer itself. In this way, The system speeds up the recordings and the search engine of the Videoma system that was initially available.

The Hospital Clínic Ophthalmology Surgical Block at the Maternitat headquarters is part of a more ambitious project that involves the creation of the CETC, which will promote the first training and practical training center in Ophthalmology that is part of the initiative of a university hospital.

The future Clínic Eye Training Center will integrate training and practical training equipment.

Second phase

The first phase of the construction of the Clínic surgical block, in which the Mediapro Group has worked, It will be completed with the second creation of the Ophthalmology training center that has the objective of being the most outstanding in Southern Europe. This future facility will have numerous training spaces, among which a laboratory stands out., DryLab, a WetLab laboratory as well as a seminar room.

The WetLab laboratory will be equipped with six state-of-the-art microscopes and, just like the seminar room, will have an interactive 4K screen, multivision system, wireless microphone, megaphony, AV connections, etc.

Besides, The surgical block and the training center will be connected both by an Ethernet network and through the audiovisual system of 10 GB. In this way, The interactivity of the two spaces will facilitate communications in the educational field.
