Supernova Infinity screens star in learning at the University of Southampton
This British higher education center has three large format optical equipment from the manufacturer dnp in its new building, supplied and installed by Visual Display.
The University of Southampton, whose centenary campus is one of the landmarks of the port city of the same name, on the south coast of England, and one of the hundred best in the world has a new building, which has been equipped with three extra-large Supernova Infinity optical displays, from the manufacturer dnp.
The choice of these teams responds to the fact that larger teaching spaces tend to lack immediacy and impact and, therefore, can negatively affect learning outcomes due to poor visualization.
The bigger the space, more difficult is to offer students clearly readable content throughout the area, when the goal is that they have to be able to see and understand the subject from anywhere in the room.
For this project, The university relied on the work of the consultant Cundall to specify optical projection screen technology dnp Supernova and British integrator proAV. The main conference room, with capacity for 250 personas, and the Harvard room, with capacity for 80 personas, they needed high contrast screens.
After winning the tender for this project, the global integrator of proAV audiovisual systems, in collaboration with the team of Visual Displays, as supplier and installer of dnp equipment, They set themselves the goal of offering an extraordinary result to promote teaching and learning with technological resources.
The dnp Supernova Infinity ambient light rejection projection screen allows you to install compliant visual systems at a lower cost than competing technologies, since these systems reflect the meaning of their name 'infinity' and can be manufactured in any size, with the exact mm needed.
Three Supernova Infinity screens have been installed in the two largest teaching spaces, two of them in the main conference room, in which content is not only displayed in all viewing positions of each teaching space, but also exceed the PISCR image contrast standard with illumination at teaching levels.
Specifically, using 3LCD color technology of laser projectors Epson EB-L1500UH specified, con 12.000 lumens each and WUXGA resolution, together with the dnp Supernova screen, with ISF certification, is capable of offering fully color calibrated content.
